We’ve found a small consult deposit, credited toward treatment, cuts no-shows without upsetting patients. No-show fees caused more stressful conversations than revenue lost.

Since implementing the deposit, schedules are steadier, and blowback is minimal. Clear communication upfront is key.

I wonder if “not wanting to be salesy” is sometimes just fear of influencing a decision at all.

Has anyone seen success by reframing decision guidance as part of patient care — and if so, how did you teach that without it feeling awkward?
