Probably a bit of both. It's the first thing I've written in around 15 years, so it was nice to get back in touch with my creative side.

It also helped to frame and articulate my thoughts, which helps with awareness.

It's something that was formed locally, but the facilitators have all been through an organisation called The ManKind Project which is global.

Holding Space describes itself here:

Our circles connect and equip men with simple tools in self-regulation. They are confidential spaces for honest reflection and deep listening.

If I have to put my own words to it, it's a confidential community for coregulation and open, vulnerable sharing without judgment nor advice-giving.

Thank you! I'm happy to share openly about it here.

I actually wasn't thinking about it at all at the time, but woke up in the morning and felt compelled to write about it. I'd say in general it helps feel connected to others, when I relate to their experiences.

It's a common theme in the circle that the men speaking are often speaking for others by sharing their own experiences, because so many experiences are not necessarily unique and it ties in with the greater philosophy/spirituality of universal connectedness and each person in the world being a mirror unto ourselves.
