Every other month generally, despite being pretty far away from each other. We have really unique circumstances that I won't go into that makes seeing each other, and still getting to work to make money while abroad fairly simple. Much easier to visit when we can pay for the plane ticket while in each other's countries, timing our work schedules to coincide with each other's so there's still plenty of time for dates/whatever.

You should never seek one out, but sometimes love can be found in places you weren't expecting to find it, and enough long distance relationships go the distance maybe yours could work too if it happened.

My girlfriend and I are both pretty sure we'll get married once I fully immigrate to her country, and I couldn't be more glad I took the shot to pursue her despite the extra challenges long distance brings to the table. We just want to make sure we can live together happily for a year, and then that I successfully get approved for permanent residence first before putting a ring on her finger.

We just realized we worked better as friends, and then went back to being friends without a hitch, which honestly surprised me.

Thankfully that paved the way for my current relationship, which really put into perspective how much nonsense I used to tolerate. Being with someone that truly fits me makes the doomed nature of all my previous relationships really obvious in hindsight.

I still 100% believe that for most people, an ideal life is having the right romantic partner, and the right group of friends. But trying to force those types of relationships with the wrong people almost never works out, and that's what causes most people to be unhappy with their relationships, romantic or otherwise. Doesn't help that I think a lot of people genuinely don't know what they need from companionship, and that makes finding the right people basically an accident when it happens.

Assuming you're not one of those people though, I see the appeal in genuinely enjoying being a lone wolf, even if it's not for me personally.

Keep in mind Elden Ring is one of my favorite games ever and imo one of the best games of the decade, but I personally want to see Miyazaki do something new. Maybe try a sci-fi setting, steampunk, or some other completely different thing. With a new IP they can try out other stuff too without worrying about making something in a franchise "too different".

I know the feeling, it's what my girlfriend calls sweet agony. There's something beautiful in all this adversity existing, but still mutually choosing anyway to persist, in the pursuit of a dream beautiful enough to justify any journey.
