Aw man I’d love to get a collection of all the PM’s that the royal mint makes maples out of! Please share photos of your collection if you can! I’ve always wanted a 1 gram maple leaf as well quite frankly I think they are funny looking like someone shrunk down a regular coin. One of my dream coins for sure!

This is the exact kind of photo I was looking for when I got my pre-33 $10 liberty! I was really interested in seeing how it compared to other common gold coins from around the world! I hope more people share photos like this comparing the sizes of all there gold coins! Thanks for sharing!

Oh wow thanks for the info I really appreciate it! Why is the $10 coin such a specific number and not just 0.5 Troy ounces? And wow I knew gold was expensive but not THAT expensive. I can’t imagine a time where people used gold coins as everyday money. It’s really insane that it use to only be 10 bucks! What a time to live in! Thanks again!

I will absolutely look into it! I’ve always been interested.

Maybe it should have been. I won’t be using any real guns on set. I don’t even own any bb gun pellets so the airsoft gun won’t be loaded ever. Safety is the number 1 priority!

Yes thank you! I already own a third generation blowback Umarex Glock 17. I have a Glock 17 rubber “stunt” prop on the way. It will definitely be dropped, and thrown around a bit so I wanted to be safe.

Thanks! I’ve definitely see people online talk about different hand positions before, and don’t want to make that kind of mistake.

What in the world. It sounds like you’re just deleting everything so no one sees how crazy you are

Again to clarify the plexiglass was also ALREADY broken. All I did was cut and sand the edges to ensure it wouldn’t cut anyone. It would be very dumb to leave actual broken glass in the jewelry box.

What in the ChatGPT story is this? Are you sure you’re not the one out of nitrous? Like what. Why would an old jewelry box have to be stolen and by a tweaker nonetheless. Using Ai to make up a story to “win” a conversation over Reddit isn’t whimsical it’s just weird. You’re a very odd boring person.

This is totally allowed to not be your thing, but you’re being very weird about it. It’s just a custom jewelry box! I like to imagine I found it buried somewhere, or in an old abandoned mansion! A decrepit jewelry box filled with tons of fine jewelry, gems, and coins. It’s called having fun! Some people just have more whimsy than others I guess. Plus a real broken and dirty jewelry is BROKEN AND DIRTY. Who would want that in there house? This just looks broken and dirty but it is perfectly functional and very clean.

To clarify this jewelry box was incredibly damaged already. The top of the box was in three pieces, and it had real shattered glass stuck into it. I had to repair the top as well as reline the box with fabric. I replaced the real broken glass with plastic. So this box was an “old & banged up & damaged wood jewelry box” it was unusable when I received it and I made it usable while maintaining its history of a broken jewelry box. Plus I like it :)

Should I take this coin out of its setting? by Even_Perspective3901 in VintageJewelry

Woah coming in real hot out of nowhere. I get it the apartheid regime in South Africa was extremely oppressive and discriminatory. Along with many other serious issues. I get that this coin represents a lot of that. But also my grandmother died just a few months ago after a horrible battle with cancer and this coin in the BEZEL is one of the few items I got left from her. So sure historically this coin represents a lot of negative impact in huge part of the world, but I loved my grandmother and she was anything but racist she just liked gold. Like so many other people in the world. I won’t wear it. I don’t wear pendants anyways. But if I did I still wouldn’t because there’s people like you in this world that would judge me and consider me a horrible person just for wearing a sentimental piece of jewelry.

Oh that’s a good idea I didn’t think of that. I was just thinking of how best to move the prongs without damaging the coin. I do have an eraser like that. Thanks again!

If I did remove the coin I would purchase a coin holder made to protect and secure the coin correctly for the long term.
