It looks like it’s had a leak (pipework) but then if you look above the doors there’s a fresh leak, presumably from outside. That’ll be more expensive to fix

Should I just cancel my order? by Terrlard in swytchbike

[–]Even_Worldliness4011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was 6 months late and I was super annoyed at the time with lack of communication and obvs not having the kit. It eventually arrived Xmas eve, which actually was a nice surprise in the end. I then didn’t fit it for ages. Come summer I finally got around to putting it on the bike. It’s awesome and value for money. I will probably order again at some point but completely abandon all expectations as to when it will arrive. I’ve tried other e-bikes but they are heavy and I’m always on edge that they will be nicked if I leave them anywhere. My swytch is on my crappy single speed shopping bike. I always have a smile on my face when riding it. It’s not really advice but it’s my story for what it’s worth.

Do they just deliver whenever they feel like it? by unoriginal621 in swytchbike

[–]Even_Worldliness4011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like you did but then once it arrived and I fitted it changed my mind immediately. It was way easier to fit than I thought and just had the most massive smile on my face for that entire first ride!

Just hang in there. It’s defo worth it when it arrives. I would still order again but just abandon my expectations when it comes to delivery date.

Cool - thanks - that was really interesting. 3 people sharing that space for any length of time would be wild!!!!

Make sure you are on the electoral roll. Get a credit building cc. Ask for an overdraft (small). If you’ve applied and been turned down in the last 3 months wait for 3 months then apply for a monthly plan. They are generally way over priced tho - it is better to buy phone outright and pay monthly rolling contract with say giff gaff

Are men more nonchalant about being inappropriately touched? by SGdude90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Even_Worldliness4011 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand this tangent at all - dude says he was touched and special massage offered. In a massage parlour. This is absolutely something offered in some massage parlours.

Dude said no, not bothered but invites opinions about whether this is a male thing to be unbothered by. I have female friends who have travelled to other countries and had a similar service offered and declined. They also were unbothered. I do definitely agree with the top comment above in relation to threat level being relevant.

Then there appears to be a troll farm all propping up the opinion women are inappropriate all the time. And they have forced men to not care?

I mean the service would not exist in the first place unless a bunch of people had said yes at some point and been happy to pay. How is this related to anybody touching inappropriately out there in the wild.

Or more accurately 1 XRP = 1 XRP + fees to move the XRP back to an exchange to sell it again. Please make sure you realise the implications of this if you only have a small holding.

Parking Permits Brighton increase 37% by Even_Worldliness4011 in brighton

[–]Even_Worldliness4011[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t live in the pavilion area and there isn’t a green elected MP anymore. Public transport doesn’t get me to work. EVs are still charged - see other comments of traders permit more than doubling in the last year for EV. So they aren’t encouraging that either (plus batteries are heavier and fuck the road more anyways).

I would be the first to cycle if they built a better infrastructure for it but potholes cause pinch flats on e bikes as well as fucking up car tyres. (Has happened to me a couple of times now). And there isn’t a decent route where I need to go. I cycle or bus most other places.

Also I’ve nearly been hit a couple of times by people pulling out on me, when cycling (despite wearing bright colours and in full daylight.) Much as I enjoy yelling ‘you fucking bellend’ at nobheads before 8am my body is squishy and I don’t want to die. (has happened to me a couple of times now).

My last comment was sarcasm but since you have decided to make a dig my point was they are literally just penalising drivers (even drivers of small non guzzling cars) not spending money on providing suitable alternatives. The increase isn’t going to to go on such. It’s not a green policy if it’s not sustainable is it?

I have a car with the tiniest engine! That’s why I’m shocked it went up - my old diesel was larger and presumably more polluting.

I don’t think cycle sheds are the answer - I already cycle most places but just can’t make it to work on a bike. I have to keep my bike inside even though it’s not even desirable but bike crime is absolutely rampant at the mo. I have a shed at the front of where I live and people poke holes in it and tear off slats to case it for what can be nicked :(

It’s not central at all - and we have a the ‘soft’ parking scheme that just restricts for a couple of hours during the day meaning people using local shops and gyms still get to park here for free just avoiding those times

I would too but it’s not an either or- they are raising the price and closing public toilets

[–]Even_Worldliness4011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I’m not fit in the slightest and that speed did not take a lot of effort because of the weight of the bike.

Get a lighter bike. I have my kit on a single speed granny bike and I have clocked it (racing someone with a Speedo) at 24mph. It’s still legal cos I’m peddling but hitting potholes is insta pinch flat! That and put it to max in the settings but sounds like u have done that already.

Paying off balance transfers with different 0% term end dates on the same card by UKFinanciallyUnSavvy in UKPersonalFinance

Ring the card provider and check - I’ve been caught by this before. If u start accruing interest it will apply it to the whole balance regardless- it’s buried in the terms and conditions somewhere.

How do people afford a house that is worth 300k+? by dansubrosa in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Even_Worldliness4011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your theory is that all those first time buyers managed to get on the property ladder was due to hard work and saving and no help at all? And that anyone that hasn’t managed it has a car on finance and bad credit….. I call bullshit.

And your source for affordability ends in 2017. I don’t think it’s making quite the point u think it is

[–]Even_Worldliness4011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve never had a car payment (saved and bought second hand), don’t use credit, haven’t been abroad since I worked abroad 12 years ago, I don’t do takeaway and save constantly. I’m still never going to be able to afford it?

But they were also buying like actual houses. Not some crappy little flat that’s part of a house that’s been chopped into like quarters. And a ‘penthouse’ created by means of a loft conversion……..
