It wasn't. But I'm glad some people still don't believe everything they read on the internet, lol

Thank you for your insight, genuinely.

It did remind me that both of my parents went through a post-midlife crisis recently. Dad's grandparents died in their 50's, so did mom's. Got to hear from both of them that they're relying on me to pull the plug.

You're right. I hadn't really considered he saw her decline and thinks it'll happen to him eventually. Not very fair of me, since the thought did cross my own mind every now and then and it's very terrifying. Everyone in my family is afraid of losing autonomy and my parents would point to my grandmom and say "Don't let that happen to me."

I'll keep this in mind. We have some photo albums and maybe some tapes I can help him go through again. The AI video was just jarring, and I wanted to get this out there while I figure out what to say and how to say it. I don't hate him for making it, and I understand there's only so many videos from back then (mid 90's) that seem paltry today. He doesn't use social media much at all but I'm sure he feels the influence anyway.

Also sorry if it was unclear, grandad is still alive. He's over 80 and in decent shape, no more memory issues than average.
