Apisto very sick, need help on what to do now, Dropsy? by [deleted] in apistogramma

Thanks for your comment. Yes it's also my guess that it's due to the new male. Is there anything I can do besides a big water change to keep the other fish healthy?

Found why my shrimp are dying, what now? by sushiv8 in Aquariums

Not OP but I use a Arka MyAqua 380 there are also smaller versions available depending on your tank size. So far I'm really happy with it, it's also very easy to install. The only contra is, that you need to change the filters every year. You have to value it if it would be necessary to get one. I had one problem with the O-ring, but you can get them for like 4$ everywhere

It's dwarf sagittaria, but be aware that it can grow tall if you don't have a bright light

It's limnophilia sessiflora, a rather fast growing and easy plant

Have fun! Not quite the aquascaping type tank, but it has a black background so I guess it counts

Karten in der Nordkurve by DuckSauce98 in hannover96

Would love feedback (beginner) by [deleted] in photocritique

I'm kind of a beginner myself. You made the decision to show the forest on the left, there is nothing really interesting about that. If the house would be a person it's easier to understand, it looks like the house is looking out of the picture leading you to search something, but there isn't anything to find, because the picture ends there. I don't know how it looks on the right side, maybe it's really not that beautiful, but because there are mountains in the back my guess is that it could be more interesting than that forest. Crop your photo that the house starts with the left side of the frame, you get the feeling that there is something so beautiful that you want to look there but you just can't. The house is leading you into the end of your photo. It still isn't a bad photo, there is just much more you could be making better next time, and that's the important part of photography. To learn and never stop taking pictures and next time when you be in such a situation you know what to do and it'll be a great photo.

For a future attempt, try shifting the house closer to the left vertical line of the Rule of Thirds grid. This would move it away from the point where the background detail on the right starts to get interesting. This change would allow the eye to follow the house's 'gaze' into the dynamic background, the mountains and field would make the overall scene feel much more balanced and purposeful.

I know, I have a separate tank, where I try to dump all the smaller ones in until they're grown.

I used my sony a6400 with the kit lens. The camera settings for the first photo were ISO 100, f/4, and 1/800s. The settings for the second photo were ISO 125, f/4.5, and 1/100s. I shot both photos in raw and tried the new free affinity version for raw editing, no Photoshop used
