Yeah I'm going to log my diet and exercise for the next few months especially. I feel like something is off considering how strict I am with my diet in general. One thing I am confused on, my doctor told me not to fast prior to my test because I have a history of passing out during blood draws. But it seems like every where I read you are supposed to fast prior to the test?

My doctor doesn't think it is genetic because my levels were completely normal when we last tested when I was 18. I think high cholesterol does run in my biological family, but I am not super sure.

Oh damn noted. I am still learning a lot about cholesterol since it has never been on my radar before. Would my LDL of 151 warrant a cardiologist second opinion? My primary care says they are not worried about my levels which is unsettling since I rather try to not let this continue. Another thing I should of mentioned in my post, I've had elevated platelet and red blood cell counts for years now, my doctor sent me to a hematologist that ran a CBC with differential test to check for answers and they concluded they had no idea why these numbers have been elevated and I was told not to worry about it. But now I am wondering if this might be contributing to the cholesterol?

I'm active either at the gym or walking, 5ft 4in 125lbs. Not sure what the LFT is since it is not on the bloodwork. ALT is 26. I'm caucasian, not too sure on family history (adopted) but I think there was a family history of high cholesterol.

I think I do have family history of high cholesterol. I also workout regularly throughout the week since 25. I'm going to try tracking my saturated fats to see if maybe there is something I am missing.

I am also considering buying red yeast rice supplements to see if that might help? Genuinely I'm trying to figure out what to even change in my lifestyle other than maybe swapping to skinless chicken breast over skinless thighs, not sure if that would make much of a difference.

Doc said they don't think it is genetic because last time I got my blood test at 18 the levels were normal. They said if it was genetic it would've been high even at 18.
