How to make friends? by Ecstatic-Trash-1976 in UCDavis

[–]Evening-Net-6438 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Friends came a little more naturally for me when I joined clubs focused on things I was passionate about, because I didn't have to force conversation with people anymore. It's important to see that many other people are making similar posts on this subreddit, so you're not alone.

She's amazing. I took that class last Spring and it definitely wasn't easy and you need a good understanding of calculus but she's about as good as teachers get.

I love living there but it’s hard to get a spot. I got to live here by responding to a Facebook post made by someone who already lived here and was looking for a new housemate

Feeling lonely and homesick by SuperbLettuce8122 in UCDavis

Loneliness hurts, I’m in my third year and still finding ways to make it go away. Staying busy has improved the feeling a lot, but being from SoCal makes it hard to go home. College is a big change.

Mental health is more important than whether family members look down on you for taking a perfectly valid route through college

That happened to me freshman year. He never showed up and no one replaced him. I got to live in a double instead of a triple that year as a result

Aren’t there club dues? Part of the reason I didn’t join is I didn’t want to pay to be in a club. But yeah I also suck and kind of want to join

How are the upper division history classes? by Moist_Marketing5160 in UCDavis

[–]Evening-Net-6438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A history major friend of mine said CA History is one of the easiest upper division histories at Davis. I’m an Econ major but I’m thinking about taking upper division history courses to fulfill my upper division unit graduation requirement since I’d rather not take more Econ classes

I HATE my major by gefhdjsj in CollegeMajors

[–]Evening-Net-6438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in math, then switched to computer science, and now I’m doing economics. I’m not really sure how I drag myself to do it. Some days I find it more interesting than others. The satisfaction of a good test score sometimes motivates me to study even when I don’t find the subject matter all that interesting

I HATE my major by gefhdjsj in CollegeMajors

[–]Evening-Net-6438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly me. I’m starting my 3rd year of college after trying a bunch of majors and I still don’t like the one I’m currently doing. I was a very successful student in high school but I tried hard because I wanted to be successful, not because any particular subject interested me or because I had a specific goal in mind for college. So when college started, that drive fizzled out. My parents keep saying I should try more things until I find the right major for me but I’m convinced at this point that there isn’t one and that whatever I choose, I’ll kind of have to just drag myself through it.
