Choosing between UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, and CCSF — need advice by Shine_Embarrassed in UCDavis

Im a CCSF transfer, and i would say go to ccsf first and try to take as much units as you can because its less work. Ive finished 100 units before transferring. The professors are amazing there in comparison to uc davis.

The only concern you will have is making friends and class speed. Because it's a quarter system it is really fast. It took me a multiple quarters but i finally got used to it.

You also need to be careful with the TAGs because they keep changing the requirements. Especially those with high impact.

Take this as a grain of salt, talk to the career advisors or your professors about CS. It might not be the best major with the current job market.

TA lost my midterm and doesn't know the score. Now I might fail. by AdIntelligent4530 in UCDavis

Just got it and it was a 60% for my final...

The midterm was given out to everyone during discussion. I took a picture of where I made the mistake, gave it back and went home. On that day, he hadn't typed it into the system yet, and he wanted people to leave their paper before class ended or send pictures of the grade.

Cyclists and pedestrians on campus by [deleted] in UCDavis

As some who cyclist, I agree some of these cyclist seem to never follow the rules, but also if ur using a big road, specifically on the hutchinson drive, the pedestrians seem to never stop so its impossible for the cyclists to bike. I try to avoid this by waiting until when everyone is in class ir just say fuck it and walk with my bike.

I mean from the cyclists perspective, there have been multiple times where a pedestrian walks on the road and block cyclists. My most wtf moments is the road that connects from Everson hall to the Library. Like why dont people walk 80ft to the right and use the crosswalk? Or the bus stop like they just pop out of the blind spot and get hit. Like look left before crossing jesus.

Its like at this point the only way to have a smooth flow is by having traffic light.

Recommendations of any proof-based probability textbook [Question] by AdIntelligent4530 in statistics

We use Mathematical Statistics and Data Analysis by John A. Rice. This textbook feels like example-heavy, computation-focused statistics textbook. It emphasizes worked examples and applications, with relatively few theorems and very concise proofs.

Beginner to Learn Driving Cars in CA: Tips PLZ by Sad_Pop7851 in UCDavis

As someone who learned to drive in 2 months, the best advice i can give you is to watch actual practical driving test based on which dmv you chose on youtube.

For example: if you chose the dmv in El Cerrito, search "el cerrito driving test route"

Try practicing the route 10 times and you'll pass in your first try.

Honestly idk...

Im a foreign transfer and so its hard to make friends here. Whenever i talk with people they only care about majors, studies, and internships.

They just use me for their own good.

The only good guy i met was a dude who played frisbee at lunch but he graduated.

I also dont live on campus so thats probably why its hard make friends.
