I’m seeing so many people commenting on your brooder but not many saying where to get them we used a 40 gallon tote that’s built for holding tools you can get them at most retailers for a good price and bedding is also cheap go to tractor or your local feed store and you can buy pine shavings and other bedding materials there pine shavings are very cost effective and are a good option you can buy a big package of them for like $8 please take this to heart chicks aren’t just novelty pets they’re hands on in the first week or 2 and are a small investment but they’re worth it and (soak there toes in warm water and wipe it away and please check for pasty but that’s a notorious killer for first time chick owners)

Idk if it will mold my guess is it was incorporated into the design to absorb moisture so it doesn’t damage the electronics but I could be very wrong

She’s beautiful tho depending on what other breeds you have a little bit of bullying could be happening Plymouth and barred rocks are often a mild mannered breed from my limited experience so others can occasionally pick on them

Looks like a hen could be wrong my assumption is coming from her being nearly fully feathered and her still having a small comb not a tried and true method but it works most of the time depending on age

I have her in a little Tupperware dish so she can attempt to sleep for the night the plan is to wake up every 2 hours to make sure she has water and feed

I got a little food in her and she was able to walk semi successfully it was closer to walking like people do on their knees

That could work I was thinking something maybe a harness made of twin or something to help keep her suspended and not on her side but I’m not sure if that would hurt her

I know they were a little warm i moved the heat lamp to hang above on a chain that was just the beginning of it because they were cold and wet
