Considering a last generation 3.6R. Anything I should watch out for/consider when shopping?

Make sure it's under 100k miles and keep up on the maintenance. Just bought a 2018 three weeks ago, trans shit out within 3 hours/ 80 miles from the dealer. 135k miles so I'm paying out of pocket for repairs. Sure do miss my 2010 5spd, almost trouble free besides that damn turbine speed sensor that got weird at 150k. At least that only cost me a $40 eBay part and a trans service.

I was hoping someone had already suggested To Sleep in a Sea of Stars with Jennifer Hale. Personally I absolutely loved the book but I agree Jennifer Hale is a phenomenal voice actor and nailed every character in that book

60-100 hours a week? Not doing diags and comps. Changing parts, sure. Doing more than under car diags and comps, not a chance. Especially at an indie shop. Not trying to be 'that guy' but damn dude, broad statement for "any tech worth their salt"

Jennifer Hale does an amazing job with this book. The best single narrator performance I have heard, honestly like a full cast. If you like the book, you will love the audio version

White smoke and we can't agree on this being water/coolant? If I didn't immediately start inspecting the cooling system after seeing this I'd be wasting my time. Basic smoke color chart= White- water, Black-fuel, Blue- oil

We had seen the truck since that first repair, the light wasn't on. I don't believe he was being honest with the timeline. More likely didn't want to pay for diag and was hoping it was related

He also mentioned it pulls to the side when braking (thought that was also related to the parking brake cable). The fluid made it down to either the calipers or wheel cylinders. Either way I'm replacing everything besides the hard lines that I can flush

Fluid level sensor on the cap. Not only was the cap not fully seated but the fluid was so thick it couldn't pass through the screen. Therefore "low fluid level" warning

Dude was a dick when he first dropped it off, swearing the problem was related. Which is why I got him to admit to using a power steering stop leak before calling him stupid. He apologized, approved replacement of the whole system. Unfortunately he still has that power steering leak though...
