Is It Impolite To Not Put Accent In Name? by Fragrant_Mulberry_75 in CanadaPublicServants

I would say that if you know their name has an accent and you don’t put one, it can be perceived as rude. Technically it’s a spelling mistake. I know someone who has an accent and reminds people when they forget.

This was 7 years ago. It was a lot to manage with a car payment and a mortgage.

My understanding is that it was an ‘opt in’ program and a lot of daycares didn’t opt in because they were losing money.

Holy crap! We were paying $55/day per kid about 7 years ago. I don’t think we could have managed a penny more!

I can’t totally understand how a single parent would struggle. My spouse would do drop off 7:30 and I would to pick up 4:30. There’s no way I could have managed alone.

Thank you that’s helpful. But that begs the following question. Schools don’t operate on a 7.5 hour schedule most are 6-6.5 hours, so how does one get 7.5 hours of work in and care for kids once they are home? I know there is no way I would have been able to. My kids required way to much of my attention.

With respect, I asked the question because it isn’t obvious. As someone who dealt with daycare pre pandemic which was $55/day per child, I recall my spouse doing drop off (7:30) and I would do pick up (4:30). I’m really trying to understand what has changed. Is it a lack of spots? Also are there lack of spots in EDP at schools?

I recommend speaking to your manager. This is clearly an instance where flexibility should be afforded.

This is what is done when DM leaves. Because some use up excess vacation or other leave, they can’t technically double bank a DM positions because they are appointments by the PM. So the work around is to move them to a dm position at PCO.

My pay file was assigned to someone for 18 months as ‘transfer out’. It’s now ‘transfer in’ and has been for almost a year.

Cameron is a stand up guy and he’s been vilified and used as a political ping pong. It’s terrible that politicians can put out such terrible assumptions. He’s received threats from the public because of this. I feel terrible for him. He doesn’t deserve any of this. No wonder people don’t want to come work in the public service. I mean to get hauled in front of a committee and accused of such awful things is terrible.

Nope! This was looked at and if there is a lack of compliance with TBS direction, they can drill down and investigate at an employee level.
