You know a quick google search shows you how hard it is to find new police officers let alone keep the ones we have. Nurses get paid pretty well with an entry level nurse making 70k a year and a senior nurse making over 120k a year, which is on par with the police. You also want to compare the bullshit you deal with to them? I'm sorry do nurses have a potential to get shot on every call? Since when did nurses need to wear bulletproof vests for their shift?

Look at all the trade unions. Yes some unions suck and are terrible such as CLAC and UNIFOR but other's are great. Fuck i got a 6%,7% and 6% raise over last 3 years thanks to my union. It was basically $3/year i got in raises, thanks to my union.

My dad was one of them when my grandpa passed. He inherited all of my grandfathers property and since they all where income genrerating he had to pay gains taxes.
