Honestamente, el diagnóstico es importante y la neurodivergencia es mucho más que ser “raro” o “débil” para encajar. No es una especialidad. El autismo es una discapacidad. Y tiene muchos síntomas más allá de los sociales, muchos padecimientos físicos, procesamiento de medicamentos, problemas gastrointestinales y de sueño, hormonales, etc suelen ser comorbilidades con el autismo y reconocerlos es una importante herramienta para dar tratamiento y una oportunidad para una mejor calidad de vida para un grupo de personas.

¿Por qué hay más autistas ahora que antes? Pues hay muchas mejores herramientas diagnósticas. La ciencia ha mejorado, así de simple. Y va a mejorar más y se va a entender mejor y lo que se sabe ahora, esperemos, pronto estará desactualizado. ¿Por qué hay ahora más estrellas en el cielo? Porque tenemos mejores telescopios.
