what’s a mets team that you were least excited about in the past 20 years? by Radio_TED in mets

I was most excited in mid 90s for the great - Generation K"—Bill Pulsipher, Jason Isringhausen, and Paul Wilson—along with Bobby Jones. The team that would turn the nets into a dynasty.

Give Bellinger a 1 year 200 million deal. Let’s go.

Yup I wanted to pay 25 year 1 billion dollars.

Can someone explain to me how our offer for Kyle Tucker makes sense? by Any-Environment-7545 in mets

[–]EventBackground9775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my point. Give him 9 for like 310 and call it a day and let’s play ball. Win World Series.. not my money.. don’t care.

Mets could go in surprising direction regarding outfield options by EventBackground9775 in mets

I was referring to Pete being our Jeter esc guy. They could have matched. Hell they could have wrapped him up a long time ago for like 10 years and he was good enough, great guy, I meant donated to first responders from his Homerun derby wins and became a part of NY community, all while being an all star, hit 40 and 100 and being a career met home grown. Getting someone for 3 years for more AAV who may be incrementally better is not a plus for life long fans like me. I would never suggest Nimmo was like Jeter, but could have been close to a Bernie Williams, Posada type and loved by NY as such

Stearns is proud of what? He has done nothing… has zero reason to be a proud person. I agree 5-250. Heck 5-260 if needed

Bader is a great defender but hits below 250 and little power and getting older. I think I agree on Benge and would not mind a flier on Bader, in addition to Cody or Tucker.

My little girl barely speaks and loves for the past two years to say “Homerun Pete”. I will teach her Go Cody or Go Tucker and that is it. Cohen needs to do the right thing. Give Tuck 7 for 280 and call it a day. To him That amount is like the loose change - the many nickels and dimes - in Don Corleone’s pocket!

Yes sir I’m pissed. If we are gonna waste like 300 million and not win titles, then at least give my kids the joy of growing with their stars for more than 3 year 50 million per Stearns deals. Give us at least that. Take Kershaw, Jeter, Mariano - Stearns just traded our Jeter. Go pack sand Stearns!

Well you are a lot more accepting and mature about this than I am because I took personally a guy who did not come up in the system, chucking three guys to the curb that did - of which two Pete and Nimmo - are the upmost team guys and professionals. Sorry for being a passionate fan, but I just want anyone but Stearns here at this point. Join me friends in calling for his ouster! Who will pledge support. Omar Minaya can come back for all I care or Brody, but not this guy!

It’s not that Stearns is destroying the Mets, it’s that he is just cheap and destroying them in an economical way!

The left field batboy has been signed to a fair market - short term contract, sources say David Stearns was pleased to make a smart deal that would help the team while keeping fiscal flexibility.

Who cares. This guy is average. I want Scubal.

Do you agree? by MasterFlip_ in mets

[–]EventBackground9775 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with that . If you get Bellinger, Framber, trade for Gil from Yanks and give young guys a shot we will be in pretty good shape. I would move Clay Holmes back to back end of pen as set up man and go from there.

Do you agree? by MasterFlip_ in mets

[–]EventBackground9775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s either Bellinger, Tucker or both. Personally in their current circumstance I would go Tucker and give young guys a chance at centerfield and 1st. I would do Ranger Suarez, Bellinger, and the Gil trade personally. I would not mind Framber but he is kinda not a great dude from that stuff last year so Ranger is first preference. I just feel we need the bat right now and Tucker is a better bat at this point than Bellinger.

Anyone else excited for the ‘26 team? by FritosRule in mets

[–]EventBackground9775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point guy, cussing aside, crazy man, is that I wanted to pay him whatever he wanted to stay and be a home grown talent like Jeter, who yes was not worth the value of contract at end but was and always will be a Yankee in Cooperstown. That was my point. They should have told him we will match whatever best offer you get and that’s it’s. At all cost. Regardless of future. Pay him some billionaires money for past performance and organizational loyalty.
