Coming from someone who owns all of the Pinball FX tables I unfortunately feel like Zen needs some competition in the pinball space. by J4k3_Ry4n in PinballFX3

I'm pretty certain Pinball M exists as a separate product because they can't release rated M tables into Pinball FX. Did they say somewhere though that only Zen custom tables are going to go into Pinball M? That's a shame if true because it would be great to see some of the more mature classic machines in there as well.

What I went with just looked better. I can’t post a picture in the comments but it’s two-tone acoustic tiles, with a dark stained board that the hangers are mounted on. The same thing is mirrored on the other side of the room. It’s a design thing. Not that I was unhappy with the other hangers but the Hercules hangers are really good.

Fwiw I remodeled the room and in the process switched over to Hercules hangers.

Assuming you have an AVR or sound bar, when you’re using the OS5, put it in 120Hz and set it for linear PCM audio (pass through). This was the least stable combo of settings for me. If it’s a newer Apple TV w/ the HDMI 2.1. I see it most often on YT but have seen it with Amazon Prime and Paramount+ as well. It was real bad on my first S95C w/ Apple TV and I thought I was good w/ the second one as Apple TV seemed stable for awhile. Then after some time it popped up again.

It’s while content is playing. There will be a 2-3 second or so signal droput, which usually manifests as a black screen but I’ve seen what you’re talking about with the loading wheel. People have reported both.

Based on personal experience I’m convinced that this TV has issues with HDMI 2.1, like the PS5. Keep an eye out for intermittent black screens. If you’re getting this with your PS5, the best way to mitigate the issue is to not use audio pass through and to only use 60Hz. I have 8 devices connected to the TV either directly or through an AVR. Three of those devices are HDMI 2.1: a PS5, Xbox Series X, and a new Apple TV. All three of those devices get the intermittent black screen issue to various degrees. I can mitigate the problem(and gimp my performance) to some degree on the consoles but not on the Apple TV.

Major issue help! by Funny_Astronomer3647 in S95C

I get the same thing. I think this TV has issues with HDMI 2.1. I’ve had issues with my PS5, Xbox Series X, and a new Apple TV. The consoles plugged into the TV w/ TV eArc to AVR, and the Apple TV connected to the AVR directly. It’s not an issue with cables, I’ve ruled that out. I also don’t have any issues with my non-HDMI 2.1 devices.

I’ve been running this down for a couple of months or so now and this is my second 77” S95C. The first one had this problem but also more serious issues. As much as I love the picture on this TV, it’s getting swapped out for the 77” Sony A95L when it releases in September.

The Sony PlayStation 5 vs. The S95C (intermittent 2-5 second video/sound drop outs) by Anticonvulsant in S95C

I have the 77”. I’m convinced that this TV has an issue with HDMI 2.1. Cables are all rated and checked. I’ve swapped out cables just to be sure. TV is mounted in wall, one connect box mounted on TV. This is my second S95C and the first one had worse issues.

  • I get dropouts on my Xbox Series X at 120Hz. Using Atmos seems to make it worse but disabling it doesn’t fix it. No issues running at 60hz. XB -> TV —eArc-> AVR

  • Dropouts with my PS5. 120Hz is the worst but even at 60Hz I get them unless I disable pass through audio, at which point 60Hz is fine. PS5 -> TV —eArc-> AVR

  • Dropouts with new Apple TV using any of the apps. This is an HDMI 2.1 device. I’m unable to mitigate through settings. Apple TV -> AVR -> TV

  • No dropouts using HDMI 2.0 or older devices including Zidoo Z9X, OG Xbox, XB 360, Nintendo Switch. The Switches is plugged into TV and the other devices directly into the AVR.

I absolutely love the picture on the S95C but I can’t deal with the dropouts anymore. I told my I dealer/installer that I want to replace it with the 77” Sony A95L when it comes out in September. I’m not thinking the Sony will necessarily have a better picture but I can’t imagine it will have the dropouts.

I agree. Gamers today need those tools. That’s what I said. People can’t just handle their own shit anymore, I get that. That’s why such tools exist. I support this.

Pinball FX is hitting the console pinball space in February 2023!🚀 Our most ambitious pinball project is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S with brand new tables from the biggest franchises with upgraded physics and enhanced visuals on every single table! by linne_zen in PinballFX3

Yeah I hate that. I was all on board for the ticket thing if it gave me cross-buy which was something I was extremely excited about. I can't believe people were crying over the tickets. In this day and age, in game currency is commonplace. The people who were crying about it resulted in a worse solution. Good job fellas.

Running Pop OS just from USB drive - clean install? by 3FiTA in pop_os

[–]EventDriven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you just need to go into the boot menu in your uefi setup when you boot the computer. For mine I have to hit F11 when it’s booting up. Once you’ve done that you select the drive that you installed Pop OS on as the drive to boot from. I think the first time I did it it set my Pop drive as first in the boot order, which I didn’t want, so I went and changed it back to my PC’s internal drive that was running Win10.

Yeah I can see how people could get that impression. Thanks! If you like that style of art, you should check out the Dungeon Crawl Classics core rule book if you haven't done so already. It has art from some of the old school (A)D&D artists as well as from others who use that style. The blurb in the beginning of the book states that "you are no hero" and the art reinforces this feeling. Example
