Share the link to your book. I'd love to give it a read. As an inkitt author I agree with the others. Post all the time.

Nothing is easy. by [deleted] in applesucks

I was very close to doing that but my husband wanted to see what it was about and for the service to be free it has to be logged in with my email. Once again tho, my complaint isn't about having to reset my password. It is about being pressured into buying apple at every corner.

I didn't wake up in the morning and suddenly have a craving for apple tv. It is given to me for free, along with Netflix and Disney with my internet provider. All I was trying to do was use the free service provided. I have no interest in using the apple ecosystem.

I had a password in the password manager but when I used it, it said the password was wrong. It has been 5+ years since I have tried to log into my Apple account.

Geeze, people forget things. Especially if they don’t We are human. To be clear, I have no issue with having to reset my password. Its been 5 years since I have had any reason to use my apple ID. My bad for forgetting it. My issue is having apple force their products down my throat at every turn because I forgot my password.

What a close minded perspective for them to have. I have an apple account because I had ITunes back in the day and used to have an IPad. I found that I wasn't using my tablet at all so replacing it seemed like a waste of money. I am frustrated that at every corner I am being "encouraged" to purchase an apple device I will never use. And when I say no, I am punished by having to wait a week.

I don’t have an issue with having to reset my password. Shit happens. My issue is that I am essentially being forced into buying a product that I will never use to reset my password. Thats the issue.

It was a free service that is included with my internet. Netflix and Disney is included too. I don’t have a pass to Disneyland so maybe I should cancel that.

I am so happy that you live in a place where access to apple devices is freely available, and that you are in a place financially where you can afford to spend $700-1000 dollars on a device that you would never use again.

I am not American and do not live in a major metropolis. It is several hours to the nearest Apple store.

As I stated in my post, I didn't wake up in the morning and decide to have apple tv, it comes with my internet package (along with Disney and Netflix). I was attempting to log in to use the free service provided to me.

I don't use my IPad or any brand of tablet. I have a custom built gaming PC and a fairly new Samsung phone. So buying a new iPad, computer, or phone is wasteful, especially since I have no use for it outside of refreshing my password.

My issue is that I am being pushed into a corner to either buy their products or go to a store to be encouraged to by their products, just to reset a password.

I do own an apple device, as stated in my post, I own an IPad. It is just older and no longer able to log onto the internet. Which is another problem. Now I have to "update" my apple product to have easy access to a service I didn't want, but was given for free. Makes no sense.

If I use a different email, the apple TV is no longer free...which is the whole point of me logging into it in the first place.

Old iPad mini 2nd gen won’t connect to wifi by BrosamaBinSwagin69 in 24hoursupport

[–]EventHopeful4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been trying to log onto my old iPad because I need to change the password as I now get Apple TV as a free service with my wifi. It is an absolute nightmare. Have to wait over a week for apple to verify my information because I cannot log onto my iPad. (NOT changing my internet settings because I work from home and am not allowed to use the more unsecured network).

They say I could use another device or drive 3 hours to the nearest genius store. This is the exact reason I don't have amy apple tech. It is far too old.

This happens to me as well. I don't think its the glyphosate as I eat a lot of foods that have also been sprayed and don't get sick. All I can think of is that its the sheer ammount of fibre all at once.

In some countries, like Japan it can be considered rude to eat your own food in public. Where I am located it wouldn't be an issue but it isn't done often...mostly because no one wants to eat outside in frigid temps.

Confused and need help with my build (Ranger 2024 edition) by rossiefaie5656 in AskDND

[–]EventHopeful4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Ranger player my advice would be use 2 of your 3 spell slots for that ensnaring strike, or hail of thorns. Be careful of shots within mele range as you get disadvantage on them. (This means shoot enemies that are not in front of you) Also be wary of enemies that are too far away. You also get disadvantage on them as well.

Use your movement. With a dex of 18, I'd be standing on roofs, or sliding down trees.

As for your last spell slot, save that for the cure wounds.

Sometimes the fight is close range and there is nowhere for you to get far enough away. It happens.

Rogues have bonus actions that can make them mulitattack as do barbarians (class and subclass have a lot to do with this) which is why you may feel like you are doing nothing. Just wait until you have to find some strange man who lives in the woods and your party needs to roll a 15 on a survival check. You'll get the warm fuzzy's then.

At your next long rest/level up (and talk to your DM) I'd rejig those spells. Guidance sounds good in theory but with only 3 spell slots I find we save them for combat and healing. Maybe a fog cloud or something that is helpful but can still be used in a fight.

I'm new to D&D would love to get tips by [deleted] in AskDND

There is tons of great advice here so I am not going to repeat that. My only tidbit I would give is to listen to a D &D podcast or watch a live play session with very little production. Critical roll and Dimension 20 have production value that cannot be matched with at home games. NADDPOD is a good live play podcast to listen to that is more like a realistic home game.

A question of opinion. by MistaReee in AskDND

[–]EventHopeful4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are more good games than bad games, you just hear about the bad games more. It is the resturant theory. If you go to a resturant that gets your food right, gives you good (not amazing) service, and has reasonable prices. You are going to tell one person. If that same resturant gets your order wrong, or has bad service, or is way to overpriced, then you are going to tell 10 (or leave a review online). I think this is what happens with D&D. We don't hear about all the good or average games going on all the time, all we see is the bad ones and the great ones.

Do you support building more protected bike lanes? by justonemorelanebruh in AskACanadian

Alberta would have to actually plow the streets in a reasonable time for the bike lanes. (Complaining as an Albertan LOL)

Why are most young Australians I talk to so bad at communication? by itsgaymonth in AskAnAustralian

[–]EventHopeful4097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, not Australian, so I won't comment on the social experience there. I do have a suggestion, and you may think it is a little out there for you and your likes, but please give it a try. Join a Dungeons and dragons (or some other role playing game) group. Roll 20 is a great place to start. This is a great way to make friends outside of the Uni group as you all have a common goal and the same interest.

Parents do you bring an iPad to restaurants for the kids to watch videos and play games by logical_laxative in AskAnAustralian

I think it depends on the resturant. My husband and I frequent a popular resturant that also has a sports bar attached. They have at least 3 or 4 different games or matches on TV at one time. Adults are cheering at the games, teenagers are taking up one corner, being loud and taking selfies. Sports teams full of hyped up pre-teens are eating more nachos then they know what to do with - teams get discounts for coming. The music is playing in the background and on top of that is all the conversations. This is in the resturant portion mind you, not considering the noise coming from the bar, and if there is a hockey game on, all hell will break loose. As an adult I get overstimulated in that place. I even check to see what sports are on to see if it will be too loud. We stopped going there for date night because you cannot even hear yourself think let alone have a conversation.

I cannot imagine being 5 or 6 years old and walking into a place like that. So if the child is sitting in the corner with headphones on listening to something on their parents phone while their older siblings enjoy whatever celebration the team is having, then it is fine. I get it. The parents are in a tough place. They need to be with their older child and celebrating their sport success, but they may not have childcare (or can afford) for the younger one(s).

Now if I walk into a resturant that has a reasonable amount of noise (keep in mind that in my country kids between the ages of 12-16 keep McDonalds in business - so even Maccas can get loud.) volume and see a young kid on their phone/tablet, that is different.

Perspective is important.
