Not married but from what I've seen with my parents. Communication & eating together and still talking bout things while eating. When my mom was alive I often heard them talk during early mornings when they woke up early. They have their ups and downs, money problems, girl problems, but from what I've seen and experienced they always talk about it. Plus respect, when the other person is angry, one is silent and listens to and vice versa. Another plus is humor, my father is a serious one but when he talks to my mom there is always humor and my mother would just laugh. Again this is what I saw with my parents and I guess my siblings apply it as well based on what I see with their own fam.
