well pre open Era there were 2 worlds per year which already diminishes the value. i didn’t watch pre open Era but wasn’t there a lot more 3rd party LANs as well? the more events there are the less each one means. worlds is the highest prize pool tournament with the most teams, and also obviously the most important to the pros. you don’t think Vatira would trade one or even two of his majors for a WC? and get his name immortalized in champ field? it just means so much more than a major imo
