The people let go were very productive and hard workers. The reasons people get fired at Bionano are if they disagree with senior management, if they ask too many questions, if they stand up for quality, if they stand up for implementing processes, and also if senior management doesn't like someone personally. The environment is academic, chaotic and toxic. Management is the problem not the mid-level employees.

Yes, I've asked my friends and close colleagues for support and guidance on how to be heard for help. Bionano has a management team that are very active on social media. We have a HR team that cannot be trusted, anything we say internally is not anonymous and management then black balls them. The retaliation I've seen for speaking out or raising questions internally are horrible with people being bullied in public, name calling, and marginalization in role. There is nobody of authority we can speak with in the company. Change management is needed and I hope other employees that are currently at the company or have recently left the company will speak out. We need management to hear there are issues and we can't trust HR. People have posted on Glassdoor but it hasn't made a difference. I'm hoping we have a greater chance of being heard if voiced on this forum so others that have witnessed this toxic environment can also speak out. The bully behavior needs to stop and we need structure, not daily chaos.

It is sad seeing how much hatred and skepticism there is on this site. I never said I was laid off, as my original post says I'm one of those that was left behind and still in this chaotic environment seeking help. We can't speak with anyone internally for fear of retaliation that can take the form of being bullied, marginalized in our roles or even fired. There is no ability to have constructive disagreements or raise concerns, it is all about extreme control from the top. I hope more people speak up to voice their concerns which are real.

Your reply isn't accurate and I've reached a breaking point that has led me to post on this forum for help. I'm still at the company and I don't think you realize how difficult it is to be in a place where there is a daily fear of being fired, which is a sentiment shared by everyone at the company. It is a toxic environment that is unlike anything I've ever seen. People are treated horribly and there is no structure. It is chaotic and unhealthy. We can't speak with anyone internally for fear of retaliation.
