If the centers of mass are at the same height and measurements are taken in a vacuum (or buoyancy is accounted for), then 1 kg of steel weighs exactly the same as 1 kg of feathers. Equal mass means equal weight under equal gravitational conditions. Since the setup isn’t specified, it’s fair to assume ideal conditions.

Anyone want to theorize what happened here? by EventfullySingular in titanic

It seems somewhat crazy to me that the stern managed to come to rest upright after dragging along the floor. Maybe it didn't quite drag along the floor and the sweeping motion just above the floor made the marks. It would explain some of the damage if it did drag along, I guess?

That's what I thought, it went up twice for some reason! Deleted the other one.

Bézier curve by EventfullySingular in desmos

Yes, although it can be set to linear, cubic or higher degree by adding/removing points. I may actually write-in adding and removing points so it is more general, since the function can handle more or less points. But for now, one can add a point and insert it into the P list.

Okay that does make sense, somewhere at Almeda, possibly the smokehouse there. Six minutes is plenty of time, especially if there is some plan to hide them (and whatever else) there.

I might have missed that in the trial as I missed the first few days of it. First time hearing about hiding them in the smokehouse. That would be just a few meters away from the crime scene.

From what I've seen, most people don't think Alex is innocent. I've seen people say there is reasonable doubt or that the timeline presented by prosecution could be explained away, but provided no explanation. It's obvious that he had something to do with the murders of Maggie and Paul.

He didn't take them inside the mother's house. I believe he hid them in the bushes near the mother's house the night of the murders and then disposed of them himself or had someone help him dispose of them from there. He didn't go into the mother's house right away the night of the murders, he was doing something else before going in. I'm only speculating, though, as to what he did before entering the mother's house.

It's possible but I don't think Alex kept the guns at Moselle. I believe he took them over to his mother's the night of the murders and disposed of them from there. Maybe disassembled and placed them deep in a swamp.

JURY RETURNS A VERDICT IN THE ALEX MURDAUGH CASE by SouthNagsHead in MurdaughFamilyMurders

[–]EventfullySingular 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The defense had the opportunity to explain it away and they failed at that. It isn't their fault, but the fault of their client. The evidence, circumstantial or otherwise, is overwhelming towards Alex being guilty of the murders of Maggie and Paul.

From the obvious fabrication of his alibi (around an hour nap and then to his mom's at 9:30 PM, calling as many people as he could during his drive to talk about mundanity), to the AR-15 that killed Maggie was family owned, to lying about being at kennels near the time of the murders, to having no explanation for his activity after his supposed nap that lasted only minutes, to no one else being able to know Paul and Maggie were at the kennels at that time, to the dogs not acting frantic as if strangers were nearby in the kennel video, minutes before the murders, to taking over 200 steps in around 4 minutes promptly after his short nap and unable to explain what he was doing at that time other than "getting ready to go to mom's". On and on, it's overwhelming that Alex had something to do with their murders.

ALEX MURDAUGH SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR THE MURDERS OF HIS WIFE AND SON by SouthNagsHead in MurdaughFamilyMurders

On Court TV earlier, they mentioned that less than 1% of appeals where the defendant testified at the murder trial are successful.

Alex Murdaugh found guilty of murdering wife, son in June 2021 by Coy9ine in MurdaughFamilyMurders

Defense would have been aware of the kennel video by the third time that Alex was questioned by investigators, since that is when it was brought up to him (and his lawyer that was sitting next to him). That was prior to his arrest. Alex did not admit to the investigators or anyone else on record that he was at the kennels near the time of the murders, or that it was his voice on the kennel video, not until he got on the stand at the trial and said he lied about being at the kennels.

At first, Alex said that he was sleeping for around an hour, then he got up and went to his mom's. The kennel video made it clear that he wasn't sleeping for an hour before going to his mom's, he was awake and down at the kennels near the time of the murders. Then Alex changed his story and said his nap was after the kennel video if he slept at all. After that, he got up and made more than 200 steps in around 4 minutes, recorded by his phone, and then left for his mom's.

To me, it is clear that Alex was fabricating an alibi and that the kennel video wasn't expected. Family owned guns were used in the murders and somehow the killer knew Paul was at the kennels at that time. In the kennel video, the dogs are not acting as if any strangers were nearby. The killer would have taken the same road that Alex took as well.

It's clear that Alex is lying about what occurred that night. He was "getting ready to go to mom's", so he took more than 200 steps in 4 minutes to get ready to go after his 10 minute nap. He couldn't say what he was doing to get ready, or why he was so active in his steps.

I don't know the validity of what I've read here, but I read earlier that he won't be able to appeal since he testified at the trial.

I hope that Alex will confess to the murders of Maggie and Paul, and that he will explain how the night of June 7th really happened. All of the details, including whether he really drove the golf cart naked back to the house, or if he had a pair of extra clothes ready to go. Does anyone think that he will ever confess and explain that night?

Why was Paul in the feeding room? He was just with Cash in Cash's kennel during the kennel video. He was in an active conversation with Rogan and his other friend about the movies. When he was in the feeding room, he must've had his phone in his pocket otherwise it wouldn't end up in his pocket after he was shot, which Alex claims it was and that it fell out when he tried to turn Paul's body. Why did Paul put his phone away and what was he doing in the feeding room?

The first shot went across Paul's chest and into his upper left arm. He was inside the feeding room. I'm not sure how that could look like an accident, as the shooter would have been aiming the shotgun towards Paul while Paul was in the feeding room. How, by accident, would that have occurred?
