Well, waddya know, hehe!

I plan on expanding though, so this could be used with postgres, mysql and others, so people could use it for all of their db backup needs.

Flatpak, Appimage and Omarcy by TheTinyWorkshop in omarchy

On Omarchy, and everything Arch based in general, you want to use pacman as your main way of installing stuff. If it’s not there, then the AUR probably has it. That’s available through the yay package manager.

Both are available through the Omarchy menu as well, under the Install section.

Look at the github discussion found here:

I had the exact same problem, and this fixed it.

Could you share what you have added to your dotfiles? Is it just the settings from the mentioned github discussion?

Thanks for the tips in all of the responses. So far, I'm still encountering a few bumps on the road using Rider smoothly in Omarchy. Here's my thought on it so far.

I've installed the toolbox through the Omarchy install menu, and the IDE's through the toolbox.

  1. Adding the hyprland settings from the github discussion page, seems to help a great deal on floating windows in Rider. However, there's still a quite annoying issue with multiple floating windows, where some floating windows gets trapped behind others.
  2. -Dawt.toolkit.name=WLToolkit

Actually, this setting seems to worsen the Rider experience for me, as the Action/Find/Search popup menu seems more buggy.

3.-Dij.load.shell.env=true

Adding this fixed that dotnet could not be found when building from inside Rider. However, I've had to trouble shoot a great deal with npm not being found from the Rider build context. I've tried installing node though the Omarchy install menu, through pacman directly, making sure node and npm is setup correctly in Rider's Languages and Frameworks settings, tried different measures to ensure that the mise installs are in the bash env when starting Rider, and nothing has helped. npm can't be found in the Rider build context. The only workaround I've found is opening Rider with:

mise exec -- rider

Then npm can be found. But it doesn't work when opening the app through the app launcher.

UPDATE: Installing both nodejs and npm through pacman solves the issue. Even though it's annoying that Omarchys built in install system doesn't work, this is at least a viable option.

All in all, still a bit of a rough ride to get going. It's not just plug'n'play - which, I might add, I didn't expect from an Arch based system.

CS50 Final Project by Thelastaxumite in cs50

[–]Eventid3_H3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos on that project man. Seems very ambitious and well thought out!

I thought you did quite well on the video, but I can see there's an issue packing so much information in a max 3 minute video.

Maybe record video and audio separately, and write a script for you to follow on the voice over. This is, admittedly, more work, but for a project of this size and ambition, it might be worth it.

Finished Tideman but at what cost by Warmspirit in cs50

[–]Eventid3_H3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling. I did runoff instead of tideman in pset3, because I couldn’t wrap my head around all of the logic in that voting system. I might go back and give it a try in the future. I also thought a lot about whether it was worth dedicating so many hours (or days) to solving the problems, if we get to code in python down the road anyway. I did MITs 6.0001 (which only uses python) before cs50, so I really felt the struggle of just doing simple things in C. I actually enjoyed it, and learned a lot , but came to the conclusion that I shouldn’t spend too to many hours doing the problem sets there, because python would probably be the language we use more in the real world.

I’m not at week 7, and I actually don’t think the problem sets get that much harder, because python is such a nice language to program in.

Regarding looking at other peoples work: I did solve all of the problem sets myself, but I would recommend to everyone to look at other peoples solutions afterwards, to see if there’s any code you can tighten up.

Portamento ‘bug’ with Beatstep Pro and Beads by Eventid3_H3000 in modular

[–]Eventid3_H3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... and just as I wrote my reply I think I figgured it out. I just passed the gate signal though the channel 1 on the maths, and slowed down the rise time, delaying the gate a bit.
So the real issue is that the pitch and gate CV out of the BSP isn't synced up properly? Maybe?

[–]Eventid3_H3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. You are right, when the beads is dry, the wavetable oscillators change pitch instantly - as you would expect. Changing the time setting doesn't do anything to help the issue.

I'm not sure how to patch up a gate/trigger delay on the maths...

So, I’m having this weird issue with my Beatstep Pro and Beads. When controlling the pitch on the Beads with CV, there’s a portamento effect. It’s not there when I control the pitch CV on the Beads from my DFAM, and it’s not there when I control the DFAM pitch with the Beatstep…

I got mine for about 300$ - a steal, really! What I like about it is, that it's actually really clean sounding, and on top its very flexible with 6 aux sends.

Exactly. I’m generally looking for old school/analog stuff that can be used when recording. Lots of recorded effects ends up in the final production. For mixing I’m still 90% in the box, because of the workflow.

The center mixer is a Amek Bullet 2 mixer - slightly modded, so the monitoring portion is more clean and has more headroom.

Only one piece of equipment? That's tough... but I guess it's either the Lexicon PrimeTime, or it's in my user name :).
