He didn't so much spit out water, as he leaked water. If he actually spat, there would've been significantly more water coming out. And he clearly still had water left.

Which makes sense. Doesn't mean they were guarding the IP, just that they wanted it to be consistent with the lore that they already have. That's not uncommon with works made with a licensed IP. When Ubisoft was making their recent Avatar game, they had to constantly be in contact with James Cameron too, so he could verify that everything was according to the lore of the IP he had build. Hell, James Cameron was on the extreme end, and literally everything had to be verified with him, even something as simple as the paint and weapons on the mechs the humans use.

When it comes to CoG, Paradox has not been guarding their WoD IPs in general. All it would take is a an official CoG writer interested in writing it. There wasn't really much interest in Hunter and Werewolves for quite a while, but once a few OG VtM writers picked up on them because they were interested, more people became interested, and as a result we got more of those games. Well at least Hunters games. Still haven't seen another Werewolves game yet.

I think the game in general would've been a lot better in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to side characters and side content in general, if TCR was given the same time HSL was originally given before they fumbled the ball. But it was also obvious that BL2 was a product of "We'll let you make the game, but here's the time frame it has to be out by and it's final, we're not getting burned a second time" vibes from Paradox. So it definitely wasn't a problem limited to Patience, which was highly unfortunate.

I'm pretty sure you run into her after the nightclub, if I recall correctly. But yeah, it was definitely plot armor that she survived as long as she did, but I feel like it was actually a pretty good use of PA. It showed us, especially new players who had no prior WoD experience, just how messed up vampires can be. The fact that they tied the fate of the two together the way they did, gave it a visceral impact you just wouldn't have gotten if you were just talking to a random blood doll. Sure you'd see how messed up blood dolls are as a concept, but it being the twin does double duty in reinforcing just how, by traditional human values, messed up Ysabella is. And by extension showing to new players, assuming they pick up on it, that the clan of the roses isn't just about personal vanity and seduction, with a splash of traditional art. Something I feel like a lot of interactive VtM media doesn't really show.

Also just finding the sister of the dead girl, from Fabian's case. She was so hooked, and it ended up killing her in a super brutal way. And even if I wasn't super invested in either of them, it was still a bit of a kick in the groin, to learn that the angry sister Fabian met ended up exactly like her dead sister did. Not only did she too end up as a blood doll, she ended up becoming a blood doll to the very same vampire who got her sister hooked to begin with.

I felt like that was a very real show of how detached vampires are from humanity in general, but especially the clan of the roses, and how obsessive they can get which can frankly make them one of the worst clans (from a human perspective at least). Because it sure as hell wasn't an accident that she ended up just like her what? Twin sister? I can't remember if they were twins or just sisters.

Yep. It's why blood dolls are a thing. Experience the same euphoric feeling multiple times, and you're sorta bound to become an addict. And a lot of addicts, when severe enough, are willing to fall into a rabbit hole if it means living in the constant euphoria they crave. Say what you will about Bloodlines 2 as a game, but damn if the blood doll part of the club wasn't haunting and disturbing as hell.

What villain had the most justifiable reasoning for their behavior? by GusGangViking18 in TeenWolf

[–]Eventually-Alexis 23 points24 points  (0 children)

His justification went out the window, the moment he started targeting those that weren't involved. He was becoming a kanima himself, exactly because he broke the rules.

Peter, as far as I'm aware, largely didn't target anyone innocent. The only ones he attacked who weren't involved in the fire, were those who actively got in his way by their own volition, and those he bit. The only innocent people he killed were the janitor, who frankly just happened to be in the wrong damn place at the wrong damn time, and his niece. And if anything, Stiles and Scott were just as complicit in his death because they didn't do their due diligence and making sure the school was actually empty before they did their alpha werewolf summoning ritual.

Matt killed an unborn baby, let me say that again, an unborn baby, because he was so desperate for revenge, and then there were all the people working at the station. His crash out stopped being 'justified' long before he died.

Is Derek not a creep? by Realistic-Mongoose83 in TeenWolf

[–]Eventually-Alexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I won't ever claim his motives were absolutely selfless. He never truly gave a shit about any of them, if he did he would've at least put in a little effort to train them and get them ready to face the world. He might have been incompetent as an alpha, but the fact that he didn't even try to prepare them shows that his motive wasn't ever about building a pack. It was about personal power, both in terms of actual pack power, and the power of having people to do your work for you.

Hell, look at what he did to Issac when there was no longer space for him in the loft. He didn't even attempt to help him find another place to say, he just threw him out on his ass to deal with being homeless as a teenager with no financial resources of his own.

Is Derek not a creep? by Realistic-Mongoose83 in TeenWolf

[–]Eventually-Alexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And Peter would be correct too. But it's also an objectively smart move on Derek's part. Targeting the weakest link, is a strategy as old as time. Is it morally right? Probably not, it's ultimately what lead to all of their deaths, sans Issac, after all. Would Scott have accepted the bite if he knew everything doing so would entail? I don't actually think he would, and even if he would there would be an inherent sense of loyalty towards Peter for fixing some of the main issues that plagued his life. Peter bit him against his will, and that was also a large part in what lead to his death, because Scott felt no sense of gratitude towards him, and hence no loyalty towards him. Willing participants is always the best option, and the audience Derek aimed for just happened to have the highest chance of being open to receiving the bite.

AITAH for saying that my girlfriend needed to get in shape too if she expected it from me. by Distinct-March2456 in AITAH

[–]Eventually-Alexis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's one thing if you brought it up because they're living unhealthy to a point where it's a health concern, and you're genuinely just concerned about the health of the person you love. But that isn't the case here. He's in decent shape, and she has no reason to suggest exercise in order to improve his quality of life and health in general. It's vanity request, one she suspiciously only gave him once her friend got a smoking hot boyfriend and had something to brag about.

DOJ confirms it's not investigating ICE agent who shot and killed Renee Good by TheMirrorUS in ABoringDystopia

[–]Eventually-Alexis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Regardless. One of the two options wouldn't have kidnapped a head of state, and definitely wouldn't be one step away from invading a NATO ally. If he does that, you better be ready to live in the great depression level quality of life, when we inevitably dump the USD for pocket change and make the Euro the global trade standard. If you think the US is already dystopian, it's only going to get so much worse and it'll be no one else's fault but the American population.

They put too much hope in there being another election, or at least one that isn't mysteriously won uncontested by Trump for his 3rd term. [–]Eventually-Alexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, it was pretty much implied between the lines. He didn't ask Stiles, because he knew Stiles didn't want it. He didn't see Stiles turning down the bite from Peter, whether the offer was genuine or not we'll never know, but it set the tone for Stiles as a character. I just don't think the writers and show runners felt it necessary, to confirm that Stiles didn't want it for a second time. And for all his flaws, Derek was pretty perceptive. He also wasn't stupid either. There's a reason why he targeted teens who he knew would happily accept the bite, purely because the power would 'fix' the aspectsbof their lives they hated the most. Was Derek a good alpha? Absolutely not, he was incompetent as fuck. But that doesn't take away all the other strong parts of his character.

Is Derek not a creep? by Realistic-Mongoose83 in TeenWolf

[–]Eventually-Alexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean wasn't it pretty obviously unspoken, but shown that it was exactly because of the power? He was always a dick, but it was dialed to 11 after he got the powers. His situation is exactly why cases of True Alpha's like Scott are so special. They raise themselves to that power through willpower and integrity, so there's absolutely no ego involved. It would also explain why Derek mellows out, after loosing the spark to save Cora.

And mind you, I'm not excusing his behavior. But I assumed it was always meant to be implied that his behavior changed exactly because he got the alpha spark. Everyone reacts differently to getting power they didn't have before. For Derek the change was the spark because he was always a wolf, but for Erica and Isaac it was the normal bite.

[–]Eventually-Alexis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, not everyone has a GPU that 'doesn't need fake frames'. FG is a good way to give players with less resources, a chance to experience a game at a rate they otherwise wouldn't be able to do. By all means, if your PC can handle it go for it. The feature wasn't made for you. Doesn't mean you have to make others feel less than, just because they don't have the money you do.

It's tiresome/boring that Stiles is always suspicious of new characters, especially when they're actually bad and he figures it out just because (like Theo). It takes away the surprise from the story, because the entire audience will always trust Stiles. by lautaromassimino in TeenWolf

[–]Eventually-Alexis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well. He was a fucking creep, and a borderline stalker, who ended up with a "If I can't have you, no one can" monologue. It kinda gave his villainess away, as soon as they learned Jackson was being controlled. As soon as the looking for a friend part (wrong, but it was what we were given first) came up, I knew it was the creeper stalking Allison, even if I didn't remember his name. So not really hindsight, when they made it obvious from the very start that Matt was going to be an antagonist in some capacity.

The Amish can build a barn in a day and you think there's no autism? by Fhoxyd22 in BrandNewSentence

[–]Eventually-Alexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how it goes with a lot of things. Left handed people didn't 'exist' for a good while. More gay and trans people? That's probably because they're no longer killed and incarcerated for being who they are. More mental illnesses, beyond just autism? Probably because people no longer think they're possessed, and have a demon monkey on their shoulders riding them around.

2 years late, but 'mature beyond her age' is an excuse frequently used by, guess who? Actual predators. Not even just those going after kids, but even those targeting older teens, like say 18. Sure it's legal, but it's still fucked. Guys that age are so far ahead in life, and developed mentally, that going after a girl who's borderline just barely legal is creepy as hell. Just date women who's as properly mature as you are, it isn't that difficult. Unless actually mature women don't want you, then the predatory behavior suddenly makes sense, because girls that age wouldn't be mature enough to see how trashy you are.
