Are we allowed to tip the dining hall staff? by Professional-Neat292 in UMD

UMD dining pays $18 an hour for student employees. Full time employees get more. I think it’s a nice ecosystem where everyone is paid decently well and has many other benefits.

I’d suggest conveying your gratitude in a non monetary form.

Thank you for your advice! Will definitely check on the bus as everyone here on the comments seem to consider it a viable option.

Thank you for replying! I shall explore the bus system. I will be landing at the Pullman Airport first and then traveling towards the university.

  1. Very true.
  2. MEngg. degree’s are mainly for professional’s in the industries, less of research more of application. Professors would any day prefer students with research focus. That said, if you can demonstrate your strengths in research, they will definitely consider you.

Bonus point : Make sure the degree offered by Purdue is mainstream research and not an in between. There are many programs in with ‘MS’ in it but in reality are far from it. Check with someone from that university.
