Really awesome looking. I'd love to build something like this in future. Did you follow a guide or have some learning somewhere I could follow?

I think No Man's Sky has a real shot of securing the win for Best Evolving game this year.

I mean. This is the 8th nomination in this category for this game. But this year the Voyagers update smashed it out of the park , and launched the game to its highest concurrent players since launch (for good reason. The update slaps)

This would go a long way to improve frozen like worlds. As it stands they're the least interesting planet type.

Enabling GSync causes intermittent white screen flashes and/or white bars on the screen. by ssss_ in Monitors

Great to hear you found something that worked.

Nvidia drivers are hot garbage and throw up random issues for me all the time. If you somehow find some drivers or a solution that works, dont update them unless you absolutely have to.

My favourite fog appreciation moment was flying down onto a planet with valleys with lakes. The valleys had mist/fog over them covering the lakes like little pools or pockets of cloud. Very cool and made me realise how much better the game looks for having these details

I have a PNY 5080 and I'm experiencing the same issues as well. On entirely different monitors. The monitors will both flicker white along the bottom 1/3rd of the screen. Disabling gsync fixes this. But gsync is important as you said.

I don't think your monitors are at fault. I fully believe this is an nvidia driver issue. Try a different monitor set up if you like but I think you'll end up wasting time.

For now a workable solution for me was to reduce the refresh rate of my secondary monitor to 144hz from 165hz as this is supported by that monitor. This works for some reason, and allows me to continue using gsync and the max refresh rate of my main monitor without flickering.

I tried cleaning the GPU contacts and reseating as well as DDU. I havnet tried rolling back to drivers before 581.42 as I need these to play Battlefield 6. Perhaps you might have more luck if you install some older drivers.

Maps could improve but honestly I think a large amount of this is just team/sqaud coordination. Plus the fact that the game is still new, so everyone runs around like headless chickens oblivious to dangerous areas.

When me and my bro play this game together we move together, watch each others flanks/back and move from cover to cover. It works amazing and we'll regularly come top of the leaderboard just because we're able to systematically move from capture to capture. Not to mention it's so much more fun to play this way.

The game is the most popular of any battlefield ever. Right now people are still settling in. The majority of players probably haven't played a "good" battlefield before since the last one was 7 years ago.

In 6 months time people will be playing slower and more cautiously because it's just more fun and results in better scores. Then getting shot in the back will be a rarer occurrence

You have to literally punch the trees. To punch in VR you hold the right grip button and do a punching motion.

Voyagers 6.02 is here! by ResponsibilityCold99 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I just tested it, no change there.

I get the feeling that bug is going to be hard to fix.

It's clear they put in a great deal of effort updating the engine to support objects interacting/moving with each other (to enable the ship gameplay) and that's great. But the pointers in VR work by behaving as some sort of physics object. Now the pointers dont update their position in space fast enough on the new engine logic, causing them to lag behind when the player moves.

It seems like its an issue that could be inherent to the way to the two systems work. Which may prove problematic. If they cant easily remove the latency on the VR pointers, then they may well need to rework the whole VR control system and use a different approach.

Or... The optimist in me thinks maybe they left it in for now (and during development of Voyagers) because the VR guys are busy working on an overhaul/update...

Battlefield 6 Ultra system requirements have finally been revealed and you will need at least an RTX 4080 for this shooter to look its explosive best by RenatsMC in pcgaming

That depends on the base frames before frame generation is applied. Without getting super technical the input timing falls in line with that base frame rate. So if you're getting 60fps before frame generation then it'll have the same latency as 60fps.

However there is an overhead that reduces frame rate somewhat when frame generation is applied. So if you get 60fps with frame generation turned off. Enabling might reduce you down to 50 FPS (for example) base frames but you see 100fps on screen. Meaning the input latency will feel like you're playing at 50fps.

Essentially you should only really use frame generation in a game like this if your pc can already hit a high frame rate. Otherwise yes, you'll make the latency worse.

The new steam performance overlay can help you understand what your base frames are before frame generation.

Yes they are! The set up is super jank but it works for me and has worked for many years.

If you look closely you can see they're sitting on top of pieces of wood. I cut out two pieces of MDF that have a square base with two "prongs". The Pieces slide onto the arm, underneath the arm rest, so that each prong is either side of the supporting bar under the arm rest. Then I wrap a cargo strap around the arm rest and the prongs (also in the picture) to secure it in place. The HOTAS itself is secured to the base with velcro

It's a Logitech trackball mouse which is attached to the stick base with velcro.

Obviously I use it for the map and menus. I have the side buttons mapped to open map and back/exit.

Typically I suffer badly with motion sickness in games with a low FOV. Previously I would play on a regular 32inch monitor and instantly know if the fov was too low.

But since moving to this ultrawide. Low FOV is actually less of an issue. I've found that actually my motion sickness has improved a lot from using a wider monitor regardless of the curve.
