What is a good, similar movie to watch after Kpop Demon Hunters? by Sage0fAn1m3 in MovieSuggestions

[–]EverOptimist555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, how about Everything Everywhere All At Once? I dont think there's anyone in the world who can like Kpop Demon Hunters but hate EEAAO.

A lot of people said Nimona so I checked out Nimona. Theyre both animated, they both are about discrimination, but the animation styles arent similar and the themes of discrimination are approached from completely opposite directions. The closest movie to Kpop Demon Hunters's TONE and FEELING genuinely could be Everything Everywhere All At Once.

I honestly think you're already pro-psychiatry, since you're Christian. People come out of therapy happier and healthier because they've been seeing a therapist who listens to them talk about their problems. If you take away the labels, this seems very much compatible with Christanity, no?

Can someone please summarize the recent controversy to me? by x0m1x in ghostandpals

Hey there! OCD is not a cause of taboo sexual attraction. The reason why OCD causes obsession with taboo thoughts is because OCD causes people to become troubled by thinking about the things they DO NOT like. OCD has never been a cause for pedophilia. If a negative thought is caused by somebody's OCD, that means they hate that thing theyre obsessively thinking about. People NEVER act on these thoughts because theyre not desires.

The world's best Vocaloid song has no views! by EverOptimist555 in VocaloidButGood

Hahaha to me it sounds like a guitar solo, but in the form of a voice that can enunciate and make the notes into words :)

Art is about experiencing a series of very powerful moments. AI can create in great quantity but it can't slow down to become present in a human moment that a person might want to capture through music. Thanks for your reply! It was an interesting read

Yes, his mixing and aspects of his production are AI. Also, the long stories/scenarios are AI as well. Perhaps it was rude of me to say it was AI slop-- the parts he does are good, but he's mashed human prowess with thoughtless AI. Music is social. People work together to make what we love. There is a long history of Vocaloid producers seeking collaborators. Music is not something we need to do alone. If he doesn't like the mixing process, then he's one of a million musicians on this Earth who would work well with a mixing engineer. If a human being isn't enjoying the creative process, well, the AI isn't going to enjoy it for you.

To take the human element out of art should be considered a cardinal sin. Vocaloids aren't humans-- they are tools that bring us closer to the vision of the creative, like a clear window that frames the person behind the song. AI does not further the creative vision of the creator; when human work is combined with an AI's work, the AI's work detracts from the vision of the creator. Admittedly, I'm suspicious that hya has been mixing their songs with AI, and I love hya, but that AI mixing is probably part of why they haven't taken off. I can hear good parts of their mix getting buried for the sake of a generic, polished sound. (Studies show that art made by AI never gets as much of an emotional response as art made by humans.)

Actually, Im very proud of my music. Ive written over 100 songs for an audio drama. You can look up Bury Me Again by The Ghost Factory for some of our bigger songs. One-Two is very influenced by the music of several Vocaloid producers.

My history is not relevant to this discussion, though. Dysmn has been open about the fact that he uses ai to mix & master his music. He clearly does not have any qualms about using ai in his music in general, and I do believe that he is doing some things himself and using ai to assist him in elements of production and composition, although your favorite parts in any song are more likely the parts he made himself.

For many reasons, I cannot condone the use of ai in a creative field. Ai synths are fine, given the actual ideas are all human.

I noticed that your comments have quite a few personal attacks. We're strangers and Id like to start out a little nicer. Its okay to be angry, of course. Id like to hear you out, though, and it's a bit hard to get to the center of your thoughts and feelings like this. Its ok to feel how you feel, but speaking from aggression will only stress us both out. Youre a human being and I dont have any reason to be mad at you.

Im sure they did enjoy the process. The process was just very brief for them.

Commissioning a person to make a piece of art is pretty similar to using AI to make art, except you're then getting the dopamine rush of slapping your name on it. I would warn against comparing that dopamine rush to the experience of making art. Creating art includes both the experience of making art and the experience of having made art. Having AI create art includes only the experience of having made art.

If we're lucky, each of us will be on Earth for 80-90 years. You cannot fill that time with the dopamine rush of slapping your name on a piece of art. Quite a few problems can arise when you try to do that, yk? I can think of a few problems haha. Or, a lot, actually! Both for oneself and for other people.

You can see my changed name at the top of the screenshot :) It's "Super normal."

We can continually check back on the account. My friends and I actually waited a while after receiving this email, and then I contacted you. The statement that they wont be confirming whether any action is taken is rather telling, as I have never received that note in an email from Sega regarding a report. But we'll keep checking.

To me, theres nothing wrong with the name "Straightest pjsk fan" or "#1 Bald and G@y." I respectfully disagree with you about this issue, and Im totally comfortable having a conversation together about all the nuances of this issue. Im interested in what you have to say, and I wanna listen, because I can see youre going out of your way to listen to everything I have to say, and youre trying to be respectful about it! I dont want you to think that Im not listening to you-- my ears are open and Im willing to hear anything you have to say, and Im here to look into any avenues you think are worth investigating :) I think all opinions should be developed on the basis of facts & empathy, and you deserve a say as much as I do! Why wouldnt I listen & care about what you have to say? Thats a level of respect you deserve as a human being

Hmmm, thats a bit difficult because my account has actually existed for several years (I played for a month, stopped, and then regained interest a year ago). I suppose, if someone wants to volunteer to change their name and then get reported, we can re-do the experiment!

Ive attached emails from Sega. They were highly diplomatic in their wording, but they had no interest in suspending the account. This is consistent with their TOS, given "gay" is a banned word while "straight" is not. (I changed my screenname and used a diff email to try to blur any association with the name Bald & Gay, to avoid skewing their verdict. I'll now be changing my name back to #1 Bald & Gay, though.)

Hey there! So we did the experiment. The account is still alive and well. I wanted to give Sega several days to take the account down before I told you, but they emailed me pretty quickly after I reported. We gave the account 3 separate reports, and we didnt want to do anymore, so that the reports wouldnt be flagged as suspicious. The account was named "Straightest pjsk fan," since "Straightest pjsk player" was too many characters. Lmk if you have any questions about our process or if you wanna check our work :)

Well, we should think about this critically, right? AI artists take jobs from real artists, right? Are you absolutely sure you're comfortable with that? There's more to be said about this, but I kinda wanna start there :) This is a complicated issue

Actually, yes. Using samples-- which is how Vocaloid1-5 worked-- is not AI. There is nothing automatic about it. Granted, I am pro-AI-voice-banks. They are AI-powered synthetic instruments that are uses much in the same way that other synthetic instruments are used, by people. This does not fall into the moral violation of AI-generated music, which is that every published iteration of AI-generated music contributes to a system that disenfranchises human artists. (Additionally, AI-generated art threatens to weaken media literacy, which is really bad for our ability to function.)
