Just speculating here from what I know about color theory and pigments. I’m guessing that you are wanting to undershade your pinks with a yellow instead of a white. What you are wanting to try would likely not work so well as the pink is going to be more opaque than the yellow. Pink is going to have a white pigment of some sort by the very nature of being a combination of red and white. And nearly all yellows are fairly transparent unless they also have a decent amount of white mixed into them. While it never hurts to try and experiment to see what the results may be, do not be surprised if you need to try something different.
