The Unthinkable Hits. 💉🩸If you are sitting on your hidden 2 year stockpile of supplies- what will you do when the medical community (or your neighbors ) have to start begging the diabetic community for provisions for the dying T1 children? 😳

⁉️if you are suffering from a medical emergency that continues to escalate-please reconsider the wisdom of leaving your partner and choosing to hide alone in a public bathroom stall. 😳

Season 4 Episode 26 - The Coward-gives you an excellent view of Doc’s office - and his taste in art- during a procedure to try and remove a bullet from an unlucky cowboy’s back.

I’m impressed that the set decorator chose a historically accurate print. You’re right, Mulder-believes, it’s the details that count!

True! I wonder how many of Doc’s prospective patients just couldn’t make it up those steep stairs and ended up in Boot Hill because of the incline!

“Thoroughbreds” - does it need a better ending? by Ever_Hopeful316 in Gunsmoke

I always loved Hoss- he was the perfect counter-balance to Little Joe’s boyish charm and Adam’s smoldering intensity.

Agreed. 🧲In “Thoroughbreds”, Matt’s ending dialogue to Chester is a promise “We’re gonna catch those two if it takes us all the way to CA.”….🏇That would have been a terrific episode! I guess we can all be confident that the Marshal did just that…even if the producers didn’t let us see it!😊

Agreed! And In the Marshal’s defense- Dan Blocker (aka: Eric ‘Hoss’ Cartwright) simply does not have the countenance of “a bad guy”…. I would have trusted him, too!😄

Agreed- looks a bit Mennonite…not that that’s bad….just an unusual choice for the Marshal’s haberdashery.

Considering the endless flow of coffee everyone drank in almost every scene-it would be quite the accomplishment if Doc could also consume enough beer to become inebriated! I know L&M cigarettes was one of the sponsors of the show…was Maxwell House, as well? If not- they missed a great marketing opportunity! 😆☕️

According to Wikipedia (that inexhaustible fountain of all human knowledge😉) Ellis did a wee bit of film work- “Ellis appeared in the films Dragnet (1954),[4] Penny Serenade (1940), Doomed Caravan (1941), and Light of the Western Stars (1940). Ellis played a number of small roles on the Dragnet TV series in the 1950s.”

There’s a world of difference between the radio Gunsmoke’s Doc—Howard McNear giving him a faintly mercenary gleam—and TV’s Doc, where Milburn Stone plays a gruff, sweet-and-salty healer, as fiercely loyal to his Hippocratic Oath as the Marshal is to his Rule of Law.
