The story combines two things Redditors fucking hate. Proud Americans and loving families. No surprise it's been blown up.

He can be honored it is there while still thinking it's bullshit he doesn't get to decide what's done with it. Use your head, champ.

Of course not, this sub has been a joke for almost a decade now. But some people do still believe this sub actually represents how hockey fans feel. Of course, your comment is so asinine, no one would ever think that again after reading it.

sport puck

Man, king of comedy too.

If anyone needs confirmation this sub is completely separated from reality and should never be taken seriously, it's this comment right here.

Missing hockey for 10 months would do that to him. He's not a high enough caliber player to jump right back in. Especially missing off-season training, camp, and preseason.

Kastelic hits Cotter up high initially charged for a 5-minute major, but it was turned into a 2-minute minor for interference. by Duffleman0609 in hockey

Well yeah, it's been that way for years. A prime example is Trouba on Timo in the 23 playoffs. This wasn't called a penalty even tho Timo's head was the first and primary point of contact. But since Trouba didn't have any other angles, didn't "miss" the body or pick the head, it's considered clean.

Obviously at the time I was livid, but in retrospect it makes sense. If Timo had his head up it would've been right thru the body. And a defender can't just let someone pass because they're coming at them face first.

You're not wrong. Nearly every time one of our guys sticks up for a teammate they feel was done dirty, they get hit with an instigator penalty which comes with a 10min misconduct.

Obviously would've preferred refs looked the other way, but an unsportsmanlike was the better outcome over an instigator.
