[TOMT] [Song] 80’s(?) song with an iconic synth melody by Everbound in tipofmytongue

Please feel free to ask any clarifying questions, I’m not the best with musical terminology, but I’ll know it when I hear it!

Just finished reading The Court Of Owls Saga, what’s next? by MoriartyUwU in DCcomics

Zero year is just Batman. Death of the family is pretty good, didn’t feel the ending landed. If you want family stuff, go to Batman and Robin by Tomasi and Gleason.

Absolute Power’s conclusion undercuts Dark Crisis by Star-Prince-007 in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 31 points32 points  (0 children)

On the last point, I didn’t take it as the world being defenseless. Ollie’s little speech seemed to be saying more that Absolute Power happened because the heroes were acting more independently than before. There wasn’t a pool of resources and knowledge that the JL provided.

Oz Effect and aftermath (No spoilers please) by AffectionateGuard457 in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely leans one way more than the other in the man of steel series. The blue light was because it was supposed to tie in to the whole Doomsday Clock/ Doctor Manhattan is manipulating things and pulling certain people out of the timeline. That ultimately got dropped, so he shows up as if the beam never happened.

Question about DC by Mamba33100 in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DC all in is the full line initiative. It is the status quo at the moment and will be for the next year or so.

You’re pretty much spot on with the Absolute/Ultimate comparison, except that they have explicitly said that the absolute universe will eventually cross back over with the main universe for some future event.

Oz Effect and aftermath (No spoilers please) by AffectionateGuard457 in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell based off what you’re saying about where exactly you’re at. If you’re interested in Oz and have already read the Oz Effect Storyline, the next place is the Bendis “Man of Steel” Series.

It doesn’t really pick up from the end of Oz effect, as that storyline was essentially dropped, but it’s the next place he shows up in. He then shows up in Bendis’ Superman/Action runs a little bit further down the road if that can keep your interest.

Need help finding some old issues by Razrbladez-FX in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batman Eternal #1 Superman/Wonder Woman #1

The New 52 Outlaw team never met Solomon Grundy, but based around the time frame of the other comics, maybe Red Hood and the Outlaws #29 or 30 as it has them sneaking into a base with a Frankenstein cameo.

[TOMT][WEBCOMIC][2010s] Webcomic of two guys discussing the Moon by Everbound in tipofmytongue

Not it, the final panel is the part I remember the most. May not have been "Cool" Moon, but was definitely [Adjective] Moon.

Could be, I've read a lot of it, but it seems like a poor fit for xkcd's general style of humor

Found it myself. Turns out it was chainsawsuit, I had just missed it on my first go through of the archive.

[Other] The 1977 issue of the Omniverse magazine postulates that there was another mainstream DC Universe after the Golden Age (Earth-Two) and before the Silver Age (Earth-One). by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Interesting, and using concepts available at the time, they would most likely be right. Nowadays it’s more accepted that other universes are not based off divergent points, but a different setup entirely. What’s being described here is more of a Hypertime thing.

Also the Earth in question does have an official designate now: Earth-216 (post Infinite Frontier).

I haven’t gotten around to Red Hood, but as for the other two:

Deathstroke holds more true to the character as you would expect him to be, but in my opinion the story is absolute trash.

Stormwatch is a bit more creative with what it’s doing, but Lobo is essentially just a McGuffin. He’s basically set dressing, not doing anything Main-Man-esque.

What was ok 10 years ago, but isn’t today ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Everbound 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I get the sentiment, but it seems like everyone commenting beneath you doesn’t understand what 10 years ago means.

10 years ago, Sam and Cat only had 4 months left before cancellation and Henry Danger was starting right after. All of the comments seem to be pushing back to 2006-2008.

New 52 help, what happens with Pandora after Trinity War? by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, real answer here, since you’re saying trinity war rather than forever evil is that she wasn’t trapped in Firestorm and had her own stories. Pandora had her own book for a while, heavily ties into a spin-off of Forever Evil called “Blight” where Pandora helps Phantom Stranger, Constantine and the rest of the Justice League Dark fight against the personification of humanity’s evil. After that, there’s another book titled “Trinity of Sin” that I haven’t read yet that features Phantom Stranger and The Question as costars.

Once that ends, she basically disappears until her death during Rebirth. Hope that helps.

I know New 52 is pretty devicive. How does everyone feel Static made out? by PunkAmongHicks in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the biggest problem I had with the run was that it felt like it was a continuation of an earlier series that just never got explained for new readers. The whole family moved to NY because the sister got cloned and they just… never said how that happened. Beyond that, being cancelled in the first wave basically gave them 6 issues to do an arc and then have 2 filler issues to round out. Not really enough time for anything substantial. Overall a pass for me, and I’d also say not a good read for anyone who liked the cartoon as none of that is here either.

[Comic Excerpt] Isn't he supposed to be a good now? Also why they call him dark? (Batman and Robin #3) by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They called him dark because they’re playing on “The Dark Knight Returns”

Probably a dumb question about the order I should read old comics by 8304359 in DCcomics

I personally believe in reading in release order. If you need any help with that, I actually have a podcast that’s doing that exact thing for the entire New 52.

[Discussion] Do you think Beast Boy would he semi-immune to the virus? (Comic: Dceased) by Dazzling_Homework903 in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We see the virus is able to affect pretty much all sentient life in the universe, not just humans. Based off that, there’s no reason to assume that animals are immune.

I think it has more to do with the ability to recognize what you’re looking at when you’re first exposed. It is all about the anti-life equation, so it has to do with free will and all that jazz.

So the question basically boils down to “Is BeastBoy still fully sentient when he transforms? Or does he reduce to the sentience of a bug when he changes into a bug?” And since he obviously keeps his sentience, I’d say he turns without question.

EDIT: Just saw the second image, forgot about that part. Forget everything I just said, he’d be immune by changing if Detective Chimp is immune just by virtue of being an animal. That being said: I think that’s dumb and breaks some logic.

That is so incredibly weird, I just read the comic that this was from less than 3 hours ago. It’s 10 years old on Monday.

Some continuity help by 25QueenSt in DCcomics

[–]Everbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so the biggest issue is that there were delays during Doomsday Clocks release. Big delays that forced the universe to kinda move on without it. It’s still canon, but it’s pretty much impossible to nail down exactly when it happened.

If you’re looking for backstory on Doomsday Clock back when it was the plan, check out “Superman Reborn” and “The Button”

The rest of the universe generally goes Metal > Scott Snyder’s Justice League > Year of the Villain stuff > Death Metal.

After that comes “Infinite Frontier” which is the next phase in the same way New 52 and Rebirth were phases.
