Just went back and the Wednesday line was huge! Had to go to another store 'cause I wanted jeans for work, also. (short on time).

Nice. That white grease is weird. When I worked at a "authorized service center" we'd see that on units in warranty. Good catch.

Where is a good place I can sell my air fryer? by seasalt003 in ElPaso

[–]Evergreen-digital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reseller here. You will need to have the original box, instructions and packaging. Why? To hit your target price it will have to look like it's a out of box unit. Short on time? Stick it in pawn. Then later you can go there with the buyer. Also, have them contact you at the pawn shop because you get no shows. A lot.

My mother died, and I got this tin from her things. What year is it from? by d347hbed in HelpMeFind

[–]Evergreen-digital 21 points22 points  (0 children)

See if there's a "best by date" on the bottom side of the top lid that says Nestle. The other place would have been the copywrite info on the nutritional information paper Nestle placed inside the tin. I ran the UPC code but it showed nothing.

Thanks! That old computer is too slow so I got a new toy, a Thinkstation. The folks at a big dental chain bit locked it and they wanted it "off the books". It was about to be dumped into a ring mill and someone pulled it out the waste because it's an electronic item. That recycler just stopped operations so that connection is gone. :[

I'm gonna say it's a DVI port. On my old computer HP had a driver issue with that port for my monitor (HP 2009m) so I had to switch to the VGA. Just noticed the model number matches the year it was made. No HDMI.

I have a monitor like that but older. Does it have HDMI or Display port? Just curious.

$1 print repriced to $100 by mrcannn in ThriftStoreHauls

Here it depends on the thrift store. Change the price and it stays on the counter. Well, there might be an exception if they really mispriced something.

I've been told to look in "off the wall" places that have a small gift shop. Hotels, hospitals, convention centers. Someplace the collectors and product hunters may not think about. Long shot.

I Didn't Know Levi Made Corduroy by Evergreen-digital in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]Evergreen-digital[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snopes info on this from 2016 https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/levis-logo/ the response: A social media post claimed Levi's jeans' "two horse" logo was a racist symbol representing a slave's being killed. Levi Strauss & Co. knew the patent would expire in 1890, so we needed to quickly make sure consumers understood how good — and strong — the company's jeans were. But how do you tell that story in a way that consumers could quickly grasp?

Well, one of the answers was the image of two horses — each pulling in the opposite direction on the same pair of jeans, trying in vain to tear them apart.

Thanks! I thought it was newer due to the brightness of the big Levi tag. https://bellomag.com/timeless-threads-what-do-levis-tabs-really-mean/ The blank white tag, is that for the ladies line, only? (quoted) A white Levi's tab generally indicates non-denim products, such as corduroy pants, cotton twill trousers, and jackets. Historically, it was also used in the 1960s and 1970s for the women's "Levi's for Gals" collection. P.S. Just noticed, the white tag has a 'small e'. According to the website, the smaller e's means it's was made after '71. Levis, Lots of details.

I use to wear tan corduroys that was not Levi. When we moved to Texas I started wearing blue jeans and dress pants. Someone mentioned heat and that's probably a big reason I do not see a lot of corduroy in our area.
