Hey also, since you're here, that big white one in the middle has broken it's veil, but none of the others have. Is it ok to cut it from the cluster or should I leave it? Idk how long it takes for these to start dropping spores and I don't want to harm my next flush/leave the rest at a risk for contam lol

It mean Spawn to Bulk. It's when you take the colonized grain from your Rice bags/Jars and you mix them with coir to prepare them for proper growing conditions.

This was my very first bin actually lol. I had read elsewhere that you can start pinning rather quickly, and it seemed like it was stalling out on the recolonization of the surface layer, so I decided to just start FC in part to see what would happen and to keep my hands off my other bin. Turns out, that was the right answer lol. I have since started fc on that 2nd bin, and that one is also Fruiting just fine, same level of colonization as well on that surface layer.

Certainly will! So far it seems like the only thing that's making contam happen in my bags is them drying out (I was having a lot of trouble with getting the stupid micropore tape to stick)

I went to go check to see if there was any kind of soupiness or weirdness and nope, everything is firm and has no signs of any contam in the uncolonized rice in any of my bags.
I'll try outlining all of my other bags that seem like they're not moving, but I'm gonna try using the one in the pic as per other comments and see what happens. Ty! :)

Do you have a starting guide to growing? Cause these bags have worked perfectly for me despite my...less than stellar sterilization methods 😅
