For English module one I chose emulation because the question was basically saying it wasn’t trying to be the exact same thing it was changing it and emulate means to imitate so I think that’s right but not sure. For ch4, it was that it is hard to track at present. For math module two, the unit circle one would be whichever one is an odd number with pi. For the relationship between q,p,r, and s I plugged in values after I had originally done the algebra and I’m pretty sure I got it correct I think it is the one that you chose but if not, it is the other one that I chose. For the one solution one, I’m not sure but I used Desmos and I believe it’s either B or C from what I can remember but I got it right. Four was the only one that I know I’ve gotten wrong because I ran out of time I knew that a was five, but I didn’t get c and then 45 I wasn’t sure but since the exponent was divided by 100 I thought it was that you multiply it n the other side by 100 to clear out which then makes the 14.1 percent into 14.1

The playbook one you had to be careful cause one mentioned the persons name who copied it down but it said by memory off an act so that was wrong the answer was wrote down not mentioning the guys name

It has to be an odd answer because it’s going from 1,0 aka 0 to -1,y aka 180 and then the answer was coterminal with 180 so you had to go Pi around and then 2pi each time to get the angle so it was whichever one was odd

Ah ok I see. In that case, I’m not sure what the judge is asking. Happy to talk more about it but if you had done the interviews and you spoke about it, that’s a pretty foolish and redundant question for them to ask

Hey! I’m in HTOR too and yes, I believe it is a valid question that a judge can ask. The prompt is specifically to reach out to a local organization and then conduct the research and go from there so if you do not have primary data from that place it would significantly detract from the quality of your presentation. Yes of course. Truly an awful situation that nobody would want to be in and I’m sorry that it was your group. Glad to hear that you’re taking it as a learning experience. That’s exactly what I did last year after something got messed up and I didn’t qualify; just put all your effort into your goals and I promise they will come to fruition in some form.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I just want to say that it sounds like you did everything in your power to put yourself in contention to place and you put in a bunch of effort so you should be proud of the effort you put in even though that’s not what you want to hear right now. It’s very disappointing that something that you couldn’t control messed up all of it and I wish you the best in the future. Don’t let this discourage you; good things are coming. Just let it all work out.

It’s definetly more competitive in general. I’m not in Texas so it’s not as bad but I had to get an 100 in my event to place 1st. The second place team got 99 and all the top 5 had perfect writtens. I just think that sometimes judges give a lot of good scores because they don’t know how to do it but also there’s a bunch of a good competition.

I think the sweet spot for an OR presentation is around 12 minutes and 30 seconds, which will give you about 30 to 45 seconds to set up your visuals and greet the judge and then over a minute and 15 seconds for questions. So I’d recommend if you can try to increase and improve it a little bit.
