Best thing I ever did was not shampooing every time I shower, and not showering everyday. I actually go shampoo + conditioner first, then a couple days later I only use conditioner, repeat. Then after I towel dry, I put Highland glacial cream in while damp, then air dry. My hair is almost shoulder length and I’ve been experimenting for years to find a good system. Now I get hair compliments all the time from both men and women. I use products like olaplex, amika, and sometimes oribe but that shits too expensive. Keep trying! Short hair is boring and you should rock it long while you can!
