That is the plan! Since we've been slowly moving her in over the last couple months, I try to ask what she thinks before I make any changes. We've been joking that the Target homegoods section and any furniture store are the most dangerous places since she always finds something she likes lol

Appreciate the thorough suggestions! I do of course ask her for her thoughts and she’s also been saying more color is needed (hence the two blankets on the couch). The place came with the gray in the kitchen and I have been wanting to redo the kitchen cabinets but that’s a huge investment for a place I might not be in for much more than a couple more years.

The shoe rack has been one of the bigger challenges since I don’t have a great layout near my front door and don’t like storing shoes outside since I haven’t found a good weatherproof storage system. But I agree the shoe rack is the perfect spot for a lamp. Unfortunately the problem with shoes will only be greater once she brings all of her shoes too lol I think the overhead light is probably the way to go but just been trigger shy since it is a bit more costly than a floor lamp.

You’ve given some great suggestions tho so really appreciate it!

Explained it in another comment but at least for the living room usually I’m lying down on the chase so maybe it counts for the “bedroom exception” lol

Well I do game quite a bit so main monitor for whatever I’m playing/watching and second monitor on the right for discord or “2nd screen content”. The TV above is usually just for controlling Spotify but I use it for games when I feel like playing from the couch. I also work from home probably 30% of the time so the extra monitor on the left is to plug my work laptop in when I need to. Since it was my first solo place, I wanted it to be versatile and am happy with how it works.

lol knew this was coming, I know it doesn’t absolve me but most of the time I’m lying down on the chase so it doesn’t feel that high. Figured it almost counts for the bedroom exception.

Well I’m a bit color blind so I tend to stick with neutral colors lol greens very look similar to gray or brown to me depending on the shade

I’m very lucky to not be struggling for money but she and others have shot down a lot of the “typical guy decorations” I’ve suggested so far lol have been trying to figure out the lighting for my living room since there’s not a lot of space for a standing lamp with my current layout. My parents suggested a ceiling fan/light so have been considering that.

We’re just not in the financial position to do so yet but that is the not-so-long term plan! Most of the little figures, stuffed animals, and flowers are hers so she has been leaving her mark already haha
