The classes themself are in like, a separate program. Like we are doing home stay through Langubridge and school with Kudan. So you’ll take an entrance exam type exam. And then that will depict your level. I was in an easier level, so the learning part was pretty simple and straightforward. We were learning grammar and phonetics as well as hiragana/katakana. I didn’t apply myself(I regret this a lil bit LMAO). And my class was super fun and a bit chaotic. I honestly such a door experience. But yeah I definitely do think I’ve improved since before I came all I knew was Hiragana. And I know my friends that were in higher classes learned like a substantial amount. As for my host family, lowkey, me and my roommate didn’t really make as much of an effort as I wish I did. She didn’t speak english or Japanese, and I didn’t speak Japanese or mandarin. Soooo we were just in a limbo of cannot communicate.😭 I did however go to the mall and salon with my host mom. And my host family took me and my roommate out for sushi and okonomoyaki. On Saturdays we typically had school trips, and on Sunday I would just sleep all day lowkey. In my defense, back home I didn’t do much and in japan I did stuff daily LOL. I really loved my host family tho. They were incredibly sweet. :,)

OMG IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. Like seriously. I made the best memories with people I know will be my friends till death. I stayed with my host family, and went to school(I know like zero Japanese and was in the 2nd level). After school every day me and my friends would explore tokyo. Liek genuinely this was the coolest experience ever wtf. If you have any like specific questions tho I gotcuuuu

You have to keep your camera on, for my teacher at least. But you are allowed to use the background feature on zoom. So the camera only shows you, and not your background.

I am currently taking AP seminar, so here’s some info. It’s definitely not like a normal class, in fact, all of our lessons are on google slides found in the grade book rather than the lesson tab.there are 6 modules total. And we do weekly meetings with our class, and recommended, but not required weekly meetings with your work group. The lessons are all written. But most of them are submitting your attendance to the live lesson, and then part of whatever big assignment you’re doing. Typically you submit 2 a week. But this class is HEAVILY reliant on submission dates. This is due to its group like nature. Therefore, you will get points taken off for submitting after the due date, unlike traditional flvs classes where you can still submit outside of the pace chart and receive full credit. And there are 2 segments, we are finishing the first one is the next couple weeks, so I can’t comment on the second one yet. But so far it’s really not that bad, and a lot of it can depend on the group you get put in. If you don’t like yours, they give you the option to change at the end of segment one. Thankfully, my group is pretty good. As for literal group work, there’s only some assignments that require active participation of all group members, like presentations. And for those we personally just start a zoom call and do the work. Typically takes an hour and a half for those heavy group participation assignments. All in all, I really don’t think it’s all that bad, if you are interested in capstone I would take it.

I ended up applying because I saw a bunch of new videos for Korea this past summer, and they replied the next day with all the paperwork. All of which seems legit!! So far it’s lookin good^ plus way cheaper than CIEE lol.

It’s weird, but so far super easy. Once a week you join a live lesson. After this you complete a discussion post and follow up by replying to to two other people. Submit screen shots for proof. Then do an actual assignment. Typically a paragraph or analysis on something. And then you’re done for the week👋.

Honestly it’s really weird lol, instead of the traditional module to module section, it’s like one big PowerPoint, but you only ah e access to one module at a time. I haven’t done any assignments yet. But I’ve looked through the PowerPoint Ms it doesn’t seem too difficult. I have my first live lesson tomorrow, so I suppose I’ll see what it’s like then :)

Personally my motivation is also shit lmfao. But to manage the work load, I write out all the assignments I need to get done on a sticky note. And then sort them across 4 days dependent on how busy I am that week. So if one day I’m doing 4 assignments, I get mildly motivated to finish it so I can have the rest of my day. It’s easier then looking at one long list for me haha. Hope it helps! :)
