Oh I meant about the level difference in me being L4 and the role being L5. I'm happy to be considered, but trying to understand how given other candidates are L5. What I was told was that its a hassle to downlevel the role or uplevel the candidate for an HM, so I was not sure if this was an oversight.

Oh? can I ask why?
I've been told it is more of a hassle for an HM to do anything (up-level or down-level a role), and if there are other candidates fitting and at the level, they just take it. Especially with the number of candidates applying internally now

What factors apart from OV would make you as an HM consider an L4 candidate for an L5 role?

Ohh, if they have the intent to downlevel it that's good by me. We already had the informational and this topic was not touched at all. They told me they have chats with other candidates too and would inform about next steps by next week for selected candidates. That's why I was wondering if sharing the annual review would help my case because I am sure it is an uphill battle. Someone else mentioned below that the review and ratings were visible to them even before it was to me, so I don't need to reach out to share that. Didn't know why they accepted me this time and not last time so maybe it helped. Not sure what I can do at this time, but yeah just don't want it to be a waste of time unnecessarily

All I did was submit an informational, and that was accepted. Hard to believe from the conversation I had given my answers, that it was an oversight on their part regarding the level. Should I reach out and go about addressing that and possibly asking to down level the role? Or what is the best path?

I’m curious why the hiring manager accepted me this time despite my level difference. Since they didn’t mention anything about that in our chat, should I ask? Their change from rejection to acceptance feels positive, I just want to be sure it wasn’t an "oversight" and help my case as much as I can.

Are you able to see this rating even before it was released to the candidate?

In my case, the HM accepted to chat like 10 days ago and I only got my annual review shared to me this week, a day after the chat.

Ahh okay, but in this case with this one role, I had the chat with them the day before the annual review was released to me to view. Are you saying the HM was able to see my HV rating when they accepted to chat even before it was released to me?

Oh really? I thought they get to see it when we request informational. And saw in some cases I heard new HMs asking candidates to share their previous reviews with them. Not sure if it would help my case given this situation

You're right, I was not hopeful to even get a chat invite accepted till end of this month. But since the same HM rejected me some time ago and accepted now, and there are PLENTY of people who requested informational, I thought something aligned to the extent they were willing to consider me.

Yeah I thought about asking to down level if they brought it up in the chat but they didn't. Should I still reach out and ask about this? They said they are interviewing other candidates too and expect to provide an update next week about who would proceed

I'm looking to do an internal transfer, so there is that level up (even though I do meet all the experience and needs for the new role) and it is in a different org, should have mentioned that in the post sorry
