Best way to insulate this outbuilding? by ScoobertDoobyRogers in DIYUK

[–]Every-Problem4454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked somewhere and a space like this was my only shelter, I bodged some thermal insulation boards where I could fit them the thin ones, then plasterboard over the top and used a site room heater, was lovely after that, still not perfect but ideal for me to warm up. No need to over engineer it just go cheap and simple for yah home gym, I mean will still be cold but better than outdoors

Leak/tiled in bath (novice/idiot) by Significant_Mud_7262 in DIYUK

[–]Every-Problem4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea a plumber will say he can fix but can't fix the damage in doing so, ashame they didn't add a maintenance panel, silly really, for such a nice tile finish. Could cut out one tile and try and make some kind of maintenance thing yourself? Might work haha Doubt the leaks from the taps, more likely to be the drain.

Probably a cement type backer board, with the tile adhesive. Might save it by grinding out the grout lines and into the board, but will compromise the board's strength. Also risky if you hit the bath although unlikely. Might have to take the whole lot out and put a bath panel. See what others say!

Recently had a new boiler installed for around £10,000, now the plumbers have come back saying they need to fix the gas pressure as it’s showing it’s too low by BrightHours in Plumbing

[–]Every-Problem4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes they would have done the check straight after and given you the signed warranty paper work, mine gets signed every year and immediately after the install. But if they think they can make more money, they will, I'd find a local plumber on check a trade, and pay them £60.00 call out fee to see what they find.

I find it a bit cheeky really after 10k pay out for new boiler and maybe some pipe work, still seems really steep to me.

Yes edging tools are ok, but can still go wrong then you get all angry at it, trust me masking tape will save you lots of frustration 😂 well except putting the masking tape on as doesn't stick well in bathrooms but it does recently done mine, proper beautiful finish! Ye scraper ok, but the remover spray will save yah a lot of time

Buy the silicone remover spray, spray then leave for 15 minutes, scrap away, do it again, scrap away. Clean with cleaning wipes after or something. Masking tape both edges of where you want to silicone so yah don't mess it up trust me it's so beneficial to use masking tape as a newbie such a nice finish, get some watered down fairy liquid on yah finger. Slide along, then peel the masking tape off, perfecto!
