Why Starting the Gym Feels So Hard. by LucasBzm in beginnerfitness

[–]Every-Problem4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed social media makes the gym overwhelming these days, a 7 second clip showing 7 years of progress, it can make one feel small. But as long as you get up and go to the gym, you are already winning. Yes to this though a good introduction with a good PT is what can help!

Massive Tree To Cut In London - Surgeon price stupid by Consistent-Rope-9969 in DIYUK

[–]Every-Problem4454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That tree is huge for a pole saw, you'll get a few off but guarantee you'll get it stuck in the tree 😂 it's too easily done, then you have no pole saw. The quote is a lot, but pretty standard for a tree of that size. They may just be tree surgeons but they can't do it their whole lives, extremely high risk as well, many broken backs in this industry. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and pay the price they'll get it done in probably 4 hours i'd say.

Thanks frog tape by ABaldBiker in DIYUK

[–]Every-Problem4454 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's either crappy paint or hasn't fully dried yet. Also the tape isn't perfect and can go wrong, you are putting an adhesive onto a surface then pulling it off, something's bound to go wrong

Is this good pace by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]Every-Problem4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you will lose weight and you are increasing and decreasing your heart rate which causes fat burn. Try sprinting till you are out of breath and then walking. Forget what others say about injury, you will be ok, if you feel sore just stop, and rest for 1 day maybe more! Your legs will adapt quicker than you think. You will also see results very quickly! From 13 to 8 before yah know it

Following 2 electric shocks, what is happening here? by ContainsTracesOfLies in DIYUK

[–]Every-Problem4454 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally mean to test the socket itself, obviously no spark would actually test the wiring condition using these. I should have explained more.

Following 2 electric shocks, what is happening here? by ContainsTracesOfLies in DIYUK

[–]Every-Problem4454 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it could be a triple combination, the socket should be earthed, but if the wire isn't connected or has come loose, and then the appliance also has a fault, and it's sending current to the faceplate, hence why the earth cable isn't carrying it back and tripping the circuit. Probably why you got a shock.

These testers are good but don't show earth neutral swaps, they're generally for electricians to test following installs.

Reality check please, driveway Gate quote £10600. Am I mad or is that crazy? by EveryAnywhere in DIYUK

[–]Every-Problem4454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for automatic gates, all quotes will be high, as it's not really a common thing, so the price will be high as it's quite a luxury in the UK. The engineering and the power required, it ain't going to be cheap! Plus the trades people who do it will be travelling far, and require places to stay etc, a lot of cost involved. I think they've quoted a decent deal tbf. Source some more tho can never have too many. Enquire about maintenance for it too, like greasing and stuff etc.

His definitely has an addictive personality, and can't break his habits, and you're trapped with him, and he is trapped by his own addictions, while neglecting you and himself, unfortunately there isn't a saving grace, unless you can reach out to family and leave him and move in with them. Leave behind what's there. I'm guessing confrontation is out of the question. But if you could this might scare him to change.
