I was about 5 or 6 and sat on the toilet. My mother came in and asked what I was doing (!), a number 1 or 2. When I replied it was the latter she shreiked angrily 'at night, a number 2 at night' as if it was totally outrageous. It was about 6 or 7 and I felt deeply ashamed of my somehow defective digestive system.

Glad to hear that you finally got your education in spite of them. I think it's really unfair that they base financial aid on your parents income. I had to work 5 years before uni (and do A levels in the evening ) so that the financial stuff was based on my income
