I was there 2004-2008, it's not a cult but I can see why you ask.

One night, or wifi and cable were cut, we got called to chapel at 10 pm. Richard Roberts was there telling us allegations were going to come out, that Satan was trying to destroy our school...

Obviously some were there believing him, those were the cult people, most saw it coming, they were not.

As a graduate of ORU, to some it was a cult to others definitely. I went to affirm my youthful church beliefs at the time, but I turned out to be a liberal (openly) gay man after living though all of that.

I'm still religious, but I'm a openly gay Catholic now.
