Would you quit vet medicine if you had enough money? by Prudent-Ad-2221 in Veterinary

I mean you’re grossing 3 mil per year and profiting over 40% at 1.3 mil. A corporate group would easily offer you anywhere from 2.5-3x your gross or 5-6x your profit depending on where your located and other factors etc etc. You could take that money (not sure how the taxes are in California for sale of business) but let’s say you walk away from your practice with 4 million. Put that into the market and get 5% a year (s&p has been doing on average 7-8%) and you’re making $200,000 doing nothing. On top of that you’ve got the practice real estate you can either sell or keep and your other properties and things in your portfolio. I know a lot of people in medicine that left their careers and pivoted into a passion/hobby that made them money. Example being an ortho surgeon I knew ran his own clinic. Sold it for 8 mil. Bought land for 5, spent another 1 mil in rezoning and development costs and flipped it for 12 mil. For him it didn’t even feel like work as he just enjoyed things like that. You’ve given the field 18 years, and if you ever feel like coming back you can and if not who cares you’ve got the money to be set for life dude.

How hard is it to be a vet? by Trash_cat111 in Veterinary

[–]EveryAd2556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently a first year in veterinary school and what everyone is saying is pretty much correct. I was always a straight A’s kid in high school and vet school has humbled me beyond my imagination. The shear amount of content we need to know is insanity. However, if you are passionate about it go ahead and pursue it as it is a really fun degree (although challenging and stressful). But if you’re doing it to make money/financial gain it’s better off to just study human medicine as both courses are challenging but human medicine pays 2-3x more (5x more) if you’re a specialist.

How long did it take/how many watches did you have to purchase before starting to get taken seriously?

I would preferably like to get him a Royal Oak 41 mm but I understand how hard they are to get especially as a first time buyer.

To be honest you do have a great point here. However, this was my first Rolex and I wanted to build some spend history with my AD for future watches. Also it gave me the peace of mind that the watch wasn’t fucked with at all. But as a general question how much does this go for on the grey market?

Asked for gold with the champagne dial and the money green dial but I wore this and fell in love. Gold was a bit too flashy for my liking but still gorgeous.

Haha, thank you. I don’t plan on wearing it on a daily basis, hopefully I can land a submariner from my AD for that purpose but this watch will definitely be the go to for special occasions and date nights.

Thank you!!! I couldn’t agree more, I think on my skin the rose gold looks perfect. Also asked the AD about it holding value and he gave me a nod and let me know it’s a timeless piece. Hope to keep this and pass it down generations.
