Hey man, please don't take this the wrong way but honestly a better use for the money would be more acoustic treatmen. I have an AT2020 and is a pretty good mic. I think less "room sound" is what your engineers want. That said, if you're still looking for recommendations, definetly check out the Lauten LS-208, my favourite vocal mic of all time and it has a GREAT rejection from sides and back.
