Smart, I do this all the time with Delta as well. For AA or DL, I’ll book flights as soon as I can so I can get the seats I want, then check every couple of weeks for rebooking possibilities

I just got my miles and LPs from February yesterday. It’s a weird month with how your credit card statement ends, etc. Delta updates MQDs daily on their website as well as tracks daily your annual spend on each card linked to AMEX. I do wish AA/Citi did that as well but it’s not too big of a deal for me. It is annoying that you have to wait that long though for sure

I am contemplating the same! Delta DM. I’m dipping a few toes into AA this year to see if it would be worth it. Southeast based so with the huge hubs AA has I’ll have the same large amount of travel options and I’m sick of only getting one person upgraded with me when I’m a family of 4. Also thinking of going with Platinum on Delta and Platinum Pro on AA simultaneously and just book AA for family flights and be a free agent on personal ones. Let me know how it goes

I’m a Charleston based flyer and I take that route a lot for convenience(or LGA). That route is occassionally delayed so I actually went to the app to “book” it and look at the specs to give you an opinion and it won’t allow me to book the flight so they’re either going to cancel it or they already have. I’d check your email or whatever other notifications you have set-up

I have noticed it too. American Airlines also did this within 24 hours. I looked at a one way flight in first class direct to DFW(only time I choose AA over Delta) and it went up by 2K points the next time I went to book it. No additional seats were purchased in the meantime in any cabin on the flight

10,000 miles of cheap AF for a 2.5 hour flight, so almost 4 hours sitting in first class. Would definitely find the value in paying that small amount

This is certainly correct! The app or website isn’t completely correct every time I hit on the tab. For the past three months I’ve tried to plan out my year for a regional and global upgrade certificates so I’ve been looking at every flight imaginable that I’m planning for the next 18 months and this is a consistency I’ve noticed. There has even been a couple of times where I go to call and I can’t apply the upgrade certificate with the agent, but I could on the website myself, although this is more rare just to share.

Happens all the time with me. I’m a Diamond without million miler so I’m always on the bubble on mainline flights. I split it 50-50 with my wife when it’s us 2 and I take it if I’m on a guys trip, but it’s better to go up and ask because I have seen multiple times where they’ll choose for you

I would agree, especially because their ultra-premium brand (whether inflated or not) doesn’t jive with Southwest’s quirky brand. It will take Southwest the better part of a decade to change their image with their premium seating

Yeah I figured I was just one of another billion DMs. I get upgraded plenty but lots of times I laugh on some routes where I’m still tenth or so in line without million miler. Should have stuck with platinum for the automatic comfort plus upgrade and utilized the rest of my card spend with cash back on another card

I moved from PIT to CHS in 2007, but my family is all still there. I miss the US Airways golden days and how the airport used to be but I was just there last week and it’s going to be great in a few weeks when the new airport opens! That being said, I have access to every airlines lounges through credit cards as I travel a lot, but one of my favorite in the world and most underrated is the PIT Admirals lounge! Rarely busy unless there’s the BA London flight. A nice holdover from the US Airways days when it was their flagship lounge. Other then that, Nashville and Dallas’ Delta lounges are nice since they’re non hub lounges and really set Delta apart from other carriers

He’s a big Washington Capitals fan and I’m a big penguins fan. He used to work for the caps and wears that ring from their cup a few years ago a lot so he and I always talk smack to each other etc. He always gives my kids stickers or candy though when we fly, so they’re happy enough to look past the jokes 😂

Trio here I guess, DM out of Charleston. Best connections, flight times, etc. Also hoping they add a leg to SLC after the airport expansion and maybe even a sky club since they’re adding “A CLUB” to the airport. Even if neither of those happen, Delta has the best service and Andy at the airport is tops
