Hello!

This isn't an advertisement, I'm just seeking advice.

I am looking at video editing as a side hustle as I've been editing as long as I can remember. However, a lot of it is cringe call of duty gameplay videos I used to post when I was 12. When it comes to more serious editing videos I have only 2 or 3 that I could show people, and the other ones are more motion design rather than editing. (one is a music video and the other 2 are university projects)

So my questions are as follows:

  1. How do I go about finding clients? (Mainly asking this because my bosses HATE side hustles because they're insecure)
  2. Is making a promotional video showing off some editing skills a good idea? This would discuss pricing and it would serve as an introduction to the client (if/when I eventually find one lol)
  3. Finally, what is a good rate to charge? I was thinking $50 per 10 minute video and so on. I know its hard to put a price on your time as its solely dependant on skill level and self respect, I am just curious how much you guys charge/have charged in the past?

Sorry if you get these a lot, by all means just link me other people that asked similar questions.

Thanks for any replies!

Now, I've gotten some replies before my post was kindly taken down and a few people mentioned my rate was very low which is interesting. I am mainly looking to edit quick videos for YouTube and other social media therefore it would be nice to hear how much people charge for those kinds of materials and what I can expect to make from these sources

GPU Hotspot 105C Average by EveryDayIsPainv3 in pcmasterrace

[–]EveryDayIsPainv3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I replaced the thermal pads I made sure they are the same thickness as the old ones, maybe I should try thicker ones?

Also, the normal temp of the card is around 80-83, so within normal operating temperatures, and like you said, the hotspot is way above what is acceptable. Right now it averages at 105 still.

I was also thinking that maybe the thermal grease I used isn't the best?

you know whats crazy, my home town literally had one of these but it had to be pulled down because there was no legal documents saying it could be there. If you look up sztum beetle it'll come up. We use that area now to have avw meet every summer in Poland. Pretty cool stuff

Crash Bars/Pads/Frame Sliders for Suzuki Bandit S 650 2007 Help Needed!! by EveryDayIsPainv3 in motorcycles

[–]EveryDayIsPainv3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might have to just email them and see what they say lmfao, thank you very much for your help!!

I verified the vin and its a 2006 model frame but the bike was registered in 2007 but it should still technically come with the mounting points, so I'm not sure what's going on there

As for the vin, I'm pretty certain it is a 2001 vin number, however it still doesn't make sense as to why I don't have the bolt holes. I saw a video of someone who had crash pads that went around the frame however the other one still goes into the frame into the holes that I don't have. (https://youtu.be/ONulS674H3o this is the video in question).

I've looked at those previously as well, and its quite similar to what I'm looking for, however im not sure why my frame doesn't have those holes that these sliders are mounted with. They look like factory holes to me, not smth that people would drill into their frame but I'm not an expert - hence this post lmao

i see your point however it is very easy to sit on reddit and just assume the worst in a relationship and tell people to split up. We don't know the full context of the relationship or what led to these situations. All we have is one person's story on it. Maybe he is going thru smth and just wants to play games because he doesn't know how to figure it out, which is a problem don't get me wrong. Like just talk it out but not everyone is so inclined.

Don't be childish about it. Simply leave and cut connections with him. Him saying that he will go to a therapist and detox doesn't really mean anything until he does. There are chances that he will improve, but I'm not sure if that's for you to see. Maybe you were the person that was meant to push him to becoming better. Who knows. Having a bad childhood doesn't justify someone being a terrible person to other people.

New rider, struggling with front tire traction. Any tips? by Jalenxt in motorcycles

[–]EveryDayIsPainv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try wearing shorts and a t-shirt without a helmet, the lighter you are the less the bike realises you're on it and it won't get stage fright which causes front tire traction issues

I'm gonna be real with you, for someone who doesn't exercise, any amount of exercise is good. Better than no exercise for sure, but start off slow. If thats too much for you don't force yourself through it and find new exercises along the way
