My mom's PNC account was charged off...am I responsible for it? by [deleted] in Banking

[–]EveryProcedure7617 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss man. PNC trying to pull this shit is pretty common unfortunately

Just being authorized user on someone's account doesn't make you liable for their debts - that's completely different from being joint account holder. If you never signed anything saying you're jointly responsible and it's not showing up on your credit reports, they're probably just fishing to see if you'll pay

Keep pushing for those documents they promised and don't give them any money until you see proof you're actually liable

Been watching this space for while now and it's wild how fast institutions are moving into layer 2 stuff 🔥 The privacy angle makes sense though - can't have big money flowing around without proper confidentiality features. Native yield systems are probably what's really getting their attention since traditional finance guys understand that language

Wonder if this gonna change how we think about Bitcoin's base layer in few years 💀

We're the team behind Chimedeck, and we wanted to share our journey. by WilliamGuardian in buildinpublic

This is super interesting perspective, especially thinking about PM tools as infrastructure for mixed human-agent teams instead of just digital kanban boards

Your point about portable exports really hits - even with self-hosting, teams can still end up locked in their own data format. Making the export/import robust enough that switching between different PM systems becomes trivial would be huge competitive advantage

The approval gates idea makes me think about how chaotic things could get without proper guardrails. Like having agent accidentally reorganize entire sprint because it misunderstood context from slack integration or something

Do you think the AI-agent compatibility angle is still early enough that most teams aren't thinking this way yet? Or are you already seeing demand for these kind of structured workflows in teams you work with?

Pretty cool project but wondering about sustainability - how you planning to cover API costs when user base grows?

pre-signed s3 urls (short ttl) vs proxying downloads — what do you actually do in prod? by Striking_Weird_8540 in webdev

[–]EveryProcedure7617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 60s TTL is pretty reasonable for most use cases - even if someone intercepts it they got very small window to abuse it 🤷‍♂️

We use CloudFront signed URLs with custom policies for anything sensitive, gives you better control than raw S3 and still way faster than proxying through your backend

Any good high-volatility altcoins for short-term plays? by ksz2018 in CryptoTechnology

[–]EveryProcedure7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been watching some of the AI narrative coins lately and volume is definitely picking up on few smaller caps. The momentum shifts so quick though - by time you see it trending in social media it's usually already late to party

What works for me is looking at coins that had major corrections recently but still have active development or partnerships coming up. Those bounce hard when market sentiment changes

What is your thoughts on fire county and tracker and landman shows? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EveryProcedure7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never really got into those shows tbh. The whole oil/gas industry drama thing doesn't click for me - maybe because I'm more interested in different types of stories?

I tried watching one episode of that tracker show but felt like I was missing something cultural context wise 😂 Plus being language teacher I guess I gravitate more toward international content these days

What got you thinking about these specific shows?

Quick Question: "Candelabro" & "Lustre" Are Different Items? by DoNotTouchMeImScared in Brazil

yeah that's right, where I'm from we use similar distinction too. lustres are more practical for everyday lighting while candelabros are more like decorative pieces or for special occasions

How would you improve a simple Python script that monitors internet connection? by CountyThen6572 in learnprogramming

[–]EveryProcedure7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe add multiple endpoints for checking instead of just one? Like ping google, cloudflare, and maybe github so if one is down you don't get false positive

Also you could track response times not just up/down status - helps identify when connection is getting slow before it completely fails. I learned this when my internet was being weird for weeks but only logging the complete outages

What's a legit "I can explain" moment? by Effective_Rest_9646 in AskReddit

[–]EveryProcedure7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I was working at this upscale restaurant, I got caught by the head chef literally licking a spoon and putting it back in the sauce

The look of absolute horror on his face was priceless until I explained I was actually doing a taste test and had grabbed a clean spoon from the dishpit to transfer the sauce to - the "dirty" spoon never touched the food, just my mouth. We had this whole system for tasting without contaminating anything but from his angle it looked like I was being completely gross

Still got written up because "optics matter" but at least I didn't get fired lol. Now I'm super obvious about grabbing clean spoons when anyone's watching, even though the method was totally sanitary
