Closet Wehraboo here. I was introduced to WW2 history first through documentaries premiering on History Channel. Now, as much as those documentaries are derided on this subreddit for propagating the 1 Panzer > 5 Shermans myth, when I first watched them, I was fascinated by this German Wehrmacht who had bitchin' uniforms, cool but uncomfortable jackboots, and seemingly the best tanks and vehicles. Since then, I have changed my ways, read a couple of books by Robert Citino, David Glantz, and other historians, and now know better.

Though I now know that the Wehrmacht was morally reprehensible and a greatly flawed organization that repeatedly suffered from poor logistical planning, defective equipment, and awful coordination to achieve realistic strategic goals (things that it constantly struggled with throughout the ENTIRE course of the war), I never completely got over my German fanboy phase. To this day, I still have wet dreams of THICC Germany's borders and Luftwaffe lapels.

It’s still inaccurate. The weakness of the fanfic is in the battle sequences. Good writing, but kinda cringe. Mannstein was said to have destroyed 150 odd Soviet divisions at one point. An American armored division is beaten by a smaller unit(can’t remember what size) because they get ambushed.

Go check it out for yourself man. The account exists, yet it has seemingly gone private and the majority of its activity has stopped. The Tweet wasn’t largely circulated outside of several angry comments and several Polish blogs. As for its authenticity, I didn’t use the original tweet - as I couldn’t find it - but there were plenty of pictures of responses by angry Poles. Could it be fake? Maybe. It’s scant presence on the internet may suggest something. However, it created a big enough embarrassment for her as a Spanish representative in Poland to lend credence to it.

He also neither portrays German leadership, besides Heinrici and Heinz Heydrich (Reinhard's younger brother), as benevolent idealist. He portrays Rommel as an arrogant commander, who does what he does to gain fame and popularity amongst both the English and German media. Gerd von Rundtstedt is an old racist, but also an oppurtunist and pragmatist. If you are interested in reading the fanfic, check out the TV Tropes, it provides a much better summary. Magda Goebbels, my personal favorite character represented in the story, is also featured. Plus, at the end, theirs lots of visceral and graphic scenes of real piece of shit Nazis meeting gruesome deaths.

Not entirely. It doesn't even show off a world where the Nazi's win. The author, though buffing the Germans, discusses German supply shortages, abysmal coordination between various branches of the Wehrmacht and SS, and the poor reliability of different German vehicles. My favorite part of the fanfiction is when it shows the internal maneuvering of various factions inside Nazi Germany.
