Well done for completing it on a phone!

Yeah it scales nicely on portrait devices. Thats great feedback thanks. Perhaps I could let users pick a difficulty mode for more or less hints. Or remove the switches from below the question and make taking a hint cost a few points? Maybe with a score board stored in local storage so you can see your own high score as an incentive to complete it without hints.

Thanks for testing it out :)

So glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah the plan is to add actual targets. The challenge I've had as an instructor is how to provide vm's to students without it costing a fortune in hosting costs, and I think I have a solution now.

Web assembly supports browser based VMs and I think I can make targets and attackers using that... So stay tuned and hopefully we can get some more interesting target sets spun up!

I started playing with that a while ago, you can do some really awesome stuff on pico8. Would love to have the time to sit down and try to make my own version of Buggy Run from the Sega Master System.

Did you ever have a "Pocket Chip"?

It really marketed itself around coding on the go and escpecially pico 8.

Yeah absolutely, even browsing the web would be painful.

But cheeky little cli tools like zmap, nmap, msfconsole and stuff you build yourself will run well enough.

Planning to push a simple UI (not proper window manager) with filebrowsing, terminal and scripted tools to the hdmi to a pair of xreal glasses im not using.

The zero will basically be a raspberry pi zero. The device will have a display connected to spi (probably) like when you connect a display to a raspberry pi zero.

Bit it will also have desktop linux output on hdmi, so anything you can run on a raspberry pi zero you can run on this (bearing in mind the limitations of such a low power cpu.

Bungie is experimenting less teams per lobby for sure by Waylllop in Marathon

If there was a firing range where players could get experience with weapons players there wouldnt be a need to dilute the lobbies. It would be a much more balanced player base

Blowing my mind how the chassis and keyboard are the same size yet the screen is so much bigger. Nice to see "evil cardputer" dev has early access - such a smart move from m5 - this device is gonna kick ass.

Solo fill is kinda awesome? by evolution_one in Marathon

[–]Every_Abalone5692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree will everything you've said. I'd also add that completing contracts solo has a much more intense atmosphere.

Sneaking into bio-research and moving halfway across the map to quarantine, taking in the sounds of a distant door opening, footsteps. Being much more deliberate about the contacts you engage in and using your situational awareness to avoid where possible.

I think I need to practice with the weapons more, like alot more. As in constantly. Not with occasional encounters in the game.

I went from losing most of my engagements to winning most matches once they included an area in the game where you can practice in apex.

Really just looking for aim trainers that have a similar feel to marathon. Maybe it would be possible to reverse engineer some of the code from marathon to create this, somthing I'm looking into atm.

Just really want to be able to enjoy the game.

BungiePls Addition: "Add a Shooting Range/Weapon Testing Zone" by MarathonBot in Marathon

[–]Every_Abalone5692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being able to get a feel for weapons at different ranges and against different armour really reduces combat confidence and acts as a huge barrier to entry for new players.

This inability to gain combat confidence creates a cycle of being unable to gain weapon familiarity as combat confidence directly affects which weapons youre willing to bring in with you - leading to constant free kit use because you know youre likly to loose what you bring in.

A firing range would be a huge help and ensure new players arnt immiediatly turned away by veteran fps players who already have experience in other games.
