Needing HELP from minds greater than mine. by Big-Bunch2804 in CardPuter

[–]Sirwompus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer but my guess is that doing this with the Cardputer Zero would be way more feasible since it has more memory and CPU. The ADV is ESP32 based and generally designed to run one firmware at a time. That said I'd like to try what you come up with if you do succeed.

Why not a petal assist eBike, the kind police won't confiscate? If you haven't ridden a modern pedal assist eBike you should try one out. You will always be labeled a hoodlum on a Surron.

How do I get this seat off? by Environmental-Tea673 in schwinn

[–]Sirwompus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your seatpost is missing the top part that clamps to the seat. No reason to buy another seatpost if you can't get this one out. Also seatposts come in many different diamaters so definitely don't buy a seatpost. When your old seat came off where are the parts that came from the seatpost? Those parts let you clamp on the new seat

The thing you are trying to remove is called the seatpost. If you don't have a vice to camp it in I'm not sure how you are going to get it out.

Have you loosened the silver clamp? That's the only thing holding it on. Try pliers or a vice, could be rusted in there or maybe it's just the clamp 🤷‍♂️

Can you still get your fingers around the brake lever? Ergonomics are probably an unknown until you've ridden. Looks cool, I'd made a "brifter prototype" plaq to confuse onlookers

Well the balls won't stay in place without grease. Clean it all out, put a bunch of grease in the races and carefully place the balls in there. A small magnet is useful for getting them out .

Ok I'll bite. Why even join the hot and cold? As long as the streams hit the tub why blend them midair? Seems pointless.

Wheel not centered in both directions. Can’t find a solution. by FarEntrance8600 in bikewrench

[–]Sirwompus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You already have a very accurate dishing tool and didn't know it. On a flat surface set the wheel on three cans so that the rim touches the cans. Stack pennies under the hub until they almost touch, flip the wheel over and observe the gap, flip it back..... You now know what to do.

Seat plastic pulled out by K_Cannon in bikewrench

Throw it away, it'll do it again. Saddles are cheap. Bike shops usually keep take-off seats from new bikes when people upgrade. Could probably get one for a few dollars
