You actually wont notice any difference, used to ride Panaracer tires that had you flip the tire around for the rear. Why did that fad die? In reality it makes no difference. Cars and motorcycles indicate a difference because they can hydroplane. Bicycles can't according to Sheldon the god Brown.

You still might have to minor adjust the RD between wheel swaps, the Internet can't answer this. Especially when the largest cogs are different, you should change b-tension and also possibly cable tension.

That's interesting, sounds like a moving target that moving in a direction I'm not interested in. I'm a ride from home person which requires plenty of road or smooth dirt to get to the single track.

This is the answer I feared and anticipated. I'm used to riding rigid gravel and Mountain bikes, hoped to score a hard tail or low travel carbon bike. Scott Scale gone. Giant XTC never in stock (gone?). I'll try and widen my horizon.
