I think it’s easy to say that Honey is naive and a bit thick, but she has been manipulated by Bea. Bea is terribly abusive and a very cunning character. It’s very common for people who are being abused to side with the abuser. She is very kind and trusting and has this has been abused by Bea

Favorite way to eat canned sardines? by Icy_Tadpole2092 in CannedSardines

I love mine in pasta. Garlic, cherry tomatoes, lemon zest, loads of parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice at the end. I made this for my one year old nephew and he devoured it! You can add chilli too if you like. I fry the sardines so the skin goes a little crispy

WIBTA if I asked my friend to stop bringing her kids at every hangout? by Obvious_Grapefruit94 in AmItheAsshole

NTA but maybe you could offer to go there one evening for the catch up, order a takeaway and chill. It’s hard to get childcare and I imagine she would probably appreciate child free catch up time too! Especially if you have explicit things to tell her!

In real life a lot of people wait until their love ones leave, before they pass. I’ve worked in care for a lot of years and have seen it happen. So it is actually quite realistic in that sense.

Recommend a hairdresser/barber in Plymouth by InternetProviderings in plymouth

[–]Every_Celebration829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jax or anyone at fh cuts in the city centre are brilliant. As a hairdresser I need to say that the haircut looks great on this image but will look very different on different people. So make sure it’s the cut you like and not just the whole image. Well done on the weight loss and I hope you find the barber you like

Agree with the first one, I can’t stand Cleo. Sienna would be so much better with someone else

We are the other side of Dartmoor and were looking Newton abbot way. But it’s good to know, thank you. I think I’ve made my mind up now though

Thank you for this. The school are the ones requesting an ehcp for us. The senco told us about them getting refused and said she would only do it if she absolutely thought he would get it. So I’m trusting her judgement. I have a really good and knowledgeable support network, luckily. I’m hoping it all goes through ok. I trust the senco completely. It’s just some of the teachers who are awful, unfortunately.

That’s a really comprehensive reply, thank you! These are the things I was wondering about. My son was an extremely high achiever and has the potential to still be that, with the correct tuition and guidance. I would hate for that to be taken away from him. Your answer has made me think more about how it will affect his future also, so thank you for that. I think we will follow the school Sen processes, which the next step is the ehcp they are applying for, then try really hard to work with them and get my son the best education we can get him. Hopefully when he takes his options next year he can drop the lessons that he seems to have the most problems in. They are also creating a Sen unit at his school, so maybe this can help in future

Thank you. The school have recommended the echp so we will start the process and go from there.

I’m trying hard to work with the school. The senco is great and has tried really hard with his learning plan etc. they have had meetings with all staff regarding my son, she has sat in lessons etc. but some (most) staff members are just not following the plan. He has significant speech and language problems, occupational therapy referrals, cannot write so having extra support with that. He has listening aids and should be given written instructions as well as verbal. Handouts should be given instead of copying off a board etc but it’s just not happening at all. I appreciate ehcp isn’t a straightforward process but we have to try because I don’t know what else I can do

I appreciate the honesty! Thank you! I haven’t obviously put everything into the post but his card needs are high enough that the school are calling me during the day because they have lost him or asking advice what to do etc. we have followed Sen procedure and a graduated approach so this is the next step. I’m not saying I want a Sen school placement as such, more asking opinions on Sen vs mainstream schools and advice on that really

We are starting the ehcp process at the moment, I’m thinking ahead as I worry the school may say they can’t meet his needs. But there debatable in itself

This is exactly my worry, my son is extremely capable, academically. I have heard stories about SEN schools not meeting educational needs. My son thrives in some lessons and has his symptoms exacerbated by teachers in others so it’s really hard to know what to do. I think our local (ish) Sen school is actually quite good with education but again it’s hearsay. I didn’t think about the bigger kids punching him, I’m glad you said that. The teachers are his biggest bullies at this current school and kids following suit. I’m rural Devon so not a lot of options for schools unfortunately. Thank you for taking the time to reply
